No problem… I enjoy answering questions (as long as I can help)… so I’m actually a full time compliance analyst for my company, however the department I work in is unique and specific to a branch that deals with a program created by government. I’ve been working in compliance for 3 years but my I have background in risk and auditing. (7 years). Because I am not a consultant I don’t on board clients for myself but in my role I manage the compliance for my employer’s clients. Hope that helps.

Hello, at my previous employer I was a risk analyst and I was able to mine data, audit and analyze data in that role… so once I saw that there was an opening for a compliance analyst in my department, I applied because the responsibilities are similar to what I was doing previously and I would be able to use my analytical skills opposed the more client facing role I had at the time

My compliance training is directly tied to the department I work in… The auditing I do is specific to the regulations that affect my clients program … I’m in healthcare/pharmaceutical and those industries alone are very broad in regards to compliance… my advice is to focus on the type of compliance you want to work in (regulatory, cyber, international etc)and the jobs in that field should assign specific guidelines for audits and their SOPs

Hi yes I moved from risk analyst at one company to compliance analyst at another and was able to increase my pay by 40% … though my current role does not require a cert due to the specific healthcare industry that I work in, the company I work for does lists different certification as a “preferred attribute” in the job description

@@maryanne2025 hi … it’s difficult because I work for a well known company AND I deal with PHI so even though the example would be fake, if someone were to find out where I work they’d essentially know how my company works with the PHI and that isn’t something I’m comfortable with. I have tried to share my work day in these videos explaining on a high level my day to day tasks however this is a Vlog and I am not equipped to create tutorials using my employer’s system/programs (especially because 90% of what I use was internally developed)

I would say it depends on the type of compliance you are getting into…. I gained a lot of my auditing skills as a risk analyst from my previous employer… then got hired into my current department by becoming a client analyst (in healthcare/pharmaceutical). I became a subject matter expert for this department/program and leveraged my previous skills in auditing to apply and secure my current role. So technically I have no formal training and learned all about the government regulations for the programs I oversee when I was first hired by this employer.
