Blessed to have lived the same way. We are seeing one of the greatest generations leaving us faster each day but the legacy they are leaving behind will always be the foundation built for us all. Much respect 💯

Lost my dad when I was 14 but he was a damn good man . worked hard and showed me how to be just like him . i was a concrete finisher for 23 years . not many of the new generation can say they were like ours and those before us.

My family owned a dairy farm. By 10 years old we were up doing chores at 4:30am. Then breakfast 7:30am and back to work. Lunch time was a hour long. Back to work. 4:30pm snack time. 5pm back to chores till 8pm. Supper was 8pm. By the time 9pm rolled around we were ready for bed.

Folks keep me in 22 bullets and hunting dogs. Just had to stay on farm and be in by dark. I spent summers helping cutting and bale hay from the time I was 10. Blessed for it.

Id like to know how many miles i put on bikes growing up. Had to have a bike or you had to stand on the pegs or sit on the handle bars. Most kids dont even have bikes now a days.

Terry Wallace Hey guys, raised the same way! Hunted birds and squirrels with my BB gun all day. Played all sports growing up, it was when my mom would come pick up me and my two brothers from the dove field to go play little league football that I new hunting and fishing meant more to me than sports! I am now retired and hunting and fishing and family is my lifestyle!!

Parents always want better things for their kids. It should include an education more than giving the kids toys, cars, etc that the parents didn't have at their age. It doesn't have to be a college degree instead of knowing how to do or build things. My sister has friends who look down on me for not having a degree but none of them can even change the oil in their vehicles.

Well I grew up in Mississippi hunting , fishing , and eating beans and cornbread. Got my first job at 14 working cattle and throwing hay. No greater life to live. Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

That is awesome. You find out more about a person just sitting around chewing the fat. Interesting backgrounds. I love it when I hear about how someone got an education to do one thing and their careers somehow took off in another entire direction.
