@EvaGoN The front is only 18x8.5 so it has some clearance. The new 18x10 is getting fitted in a few weeks and that will be a very tight fit. The rear has less than 1mm clearance between the inner barrel to the strut housing. I think there is a picture in the video where my friend's finger tried to see the inner clearance. And as you can see, there is not clearance from tire to fender; the fender sits on the tires =P

lol yea thats mine. Its in the shop right now redoing the wide body. I sold the s1's and now have vs-xx 18x12.5 with a negative 3 offset in the rear with 315/30 tires and an 18x10 with negative 7 offset with a 265/35 tire. If you're ever in NY we need to do a photo shoot together!

@iLIVEPOSITIVEXXX The new set of Meister was $3,100. The rear tires were $150 each, mounting was $25 each.

@erikblazer13 lol. The car turns just fine =) The widebody fiberglass fenders are flexible; they flex when the tires hit them during cornering or hard braking. Also they shave the tires when rubbing, unlike metal fenders which cut through the tires. But you're right: when I take hard turns (freeway on ramp) going fast, I smell burned rubber alllll the time =D

@xExRxIxCxKx I was told that the machine cost almost twice than the average Hunter machine; this one is almost touch-less, the operator doesn't need a metal bar to seat the edge of the tire. Also the attachments are all plastic, doesn't scratch as much as those metal ones. The wheel is bolted to the center hub, unlike other machine which grabs the lips and scratch it. 285/30 on 19x12.5 is not that much stretch, as shown in this video, it just mount easy. Thanks for the compliment=)
@MR2VIDS13 жыл бұрын
@mr291lover What an eagle eye =) This day was just a test mount for the tire to see clearance. I could only bring one 19x12.5 on the passenger seat, since it does not fit in the front nor rear trunk. So the 2nd day I went again and bring the other one, and after mounting the 2nd tire to the other wheels, I swap the wheel to the correct side. Then I brought 1 of the old rear wheel/tire home, and next day I took the last one. The joy of only having one car.... =(
@MR2VIDS13 жыл бұрын
@EvaGoN In the inside: If you take a piece of paper, fold it once, that will not clear the inner barrel to the stock housing. On the outside, the tire almost sits on the fender, so yeah.... :D

I used to go up there in my 95 integra sedan. i only had coilovers and decent tires on 16x7.5's. i wanted to do so much suspension and chassis rigidity work on it, til i hydrolocked the engine. its sitting in my grampas driveway without a head right now til i can fix it. bent 3 valves -_-.

THATS BEAUTIFUL GETTING THE SAME SIZE TIRES BUT 18'' ON MA MK3 SUPRA
@MR2VIDS13 жыл бұрын
@interlagos80s It's hard to stretch tires on 18x8, since it's not wide enough. 215/35 on 8" wide is super baby stretch; the stretch is so little it almost doesn't look stretched. There is no 205/35/18, so you're stuck with non stretched looking setup. 225/40 and 235/40 will not look stretch at all on 8" wide, they're square That's why people go with wide wheels so they can get good stretch on them.
@rcteddy200813 жыл бұрын
holy shit! i work at a tire shop and the thinnest tires ive seen are the 35 series but never a 30 series tire. :o thats basically like a rubber band on that wheel! lol! looks straight tho!

hey, awesome tires, could someone please tell me how to give tires the right amount of stretch? i have 18 inch rims, 8 inch wide, i am currently using 225/40 tires but I would like to buy ventus v12's, but what size will give me that same stretch look in the video? would i have to go 235/40? i have no clue about tires. thanks

stunning MR2 bud, i've just bought a new set of S1's (see my videos) for my supra, good to see what the stretch is like on 285 on 12.5" rear, i think i'm going for 275 on my 11" rears.

@MR2VIDS Oh man i hear you on that, im always trying to make my little S-10 2002 look great, keeping it all stock except the radio that is hahaha, always washing and waxing ;D
@MR2VIDS13 жыл бұрын
@interlagos80s @interlagos80s I prefer stretching tires by choosing lower profile tires instead of skinnier tires. So let's say you have 10" wide wheel, then 225/35 is a nice stretch on it, instead of 205/40. This way you get to run wider tires (225 instead of 205) for more contact patch, and still stretching for clearance. x9 is a good width for the front; go with 215/35

yah with those big meats you have on it I'm sure it's needed...have you driven an SW20/21/22 with a manual rack to kind of get an idea of comparison in the ride, and controlling the car?
@MR2VIDS8 жыл бұрын
Maybe you've experienced this before or at least heard about it. The PS on these 20+ years old SW sow times get stuck. The solenoid gets stuck and the PS light turns on and you don't have PS. Either you accept it as is, and drive it like that for 2-4 days, or you can cycle the ignition key to AC for 20 times to reset/unstuck the solenoid. So yeah I've driven my car several days without PS and I have to tell you, it isn't comfortable and it isn't fun, at all. I guess I'm spoiled for having it for years

Armand what's the widest wheel I can fit in a 19 on the back without stretching the tires that much as you did just a little stretch I want to go with a 19 x 12 with the most + offset I can without hitting the spring...but but I could live with just a slight tad rubbing on fender...I want to go with a 255- 35-18 (which i have already) on the front and a 295-305 out back... I realized those 255 in the front I'm going to need some extra rocket bunny style fender flares or another set of fenders over the stock TRD fenders which I've been prepping I could show you the pics on my FB page...

Right now I got 18X9 +22 front 18X9 +15 rear definitely looks like I got at least a few more inches in the back the front is pretty much maxed out with a 235-35 tire...Sergey from Sergey's House of Wheels has a 245 on the front without even using a TRD wide-body just a good Fender pull and roll! I guess? but of course that's on a 17-inch rim... Long story short do you think I can squeeze a 305 out back or 315? How much clearance (in mm) would you say you still had with the 295? I'm running the BC racing coilovers and I pretty much like them alot but I'm thinking about switching the BC Springs out with stiffer Eibach Springs or Swift Springs... I also have a pair of Ingalls camber bolts if I need em for the front (or rear)...
