I'm so glad to see your designs, visions and creations come to life for others to experience and use and enjoy. The Lexus manufacturing quote is "the pursuit of perfection." Vince Lombardi once said, "Gentlemen, we will chase perfection, and we will chase it relentlessly, knowing all the while we can never attain it. But along the way, we shall catch excellence.” I see these things in what you do.

I appreciate that very much. I follow a few rules in life. First is...always invent and create. Creation is one of my absolute favorite aspects of life. And I also aim high knowing I will land somewhere in the middle but it's in a better place than I was. That's kinda like the Lombardi quote. Have a vision and pursue it until it comes to life. And then enjoy it! Hopefully people will enjoy the Carinvore! Thanks for writing and for your support!

Thank you!! I greatly appreciate that! I pull from my practical field use experiences and I try not to over complicate a design. It needs to function in every aspect, so the design only includes useful features. It's sometimes the art of making it look sleek and sexy yet still tough and robust while maintaining the functional use needs. I can't wait to test this one!! Very soon! Thanks again for your support!

This is a must have for me. A lot of knives pushing this length start to lean towards excelling at chopping only and becoming a bit unwieldy/cumbersome. This guy on the other hand just looks so nicely streamlined and lively in the hand for its size. At a 1/4" thick it's still got some weight behind it for some chopping and rougher use. Kick ass design man!!

Wow man, just when I thought I could pause buying woods knives for a while! I absolutely love your designs, both from an aesthetic and practical point of view. I think you hit a sweet spot with the size especially on this one. To me, the comparison that comes to mind is the Junglas II. I think the Esee 6 and even the RAT 7 are too small to be my "big guy" if I have a lot of wood to process. I love the original Junglas, but it's just stupid big to keep on the hip. I think there is a place in the market for more knives in that "one tool option" range and the Carnivore nails it. Bigger than the RAT 7 but more nimble than the Junglas II. And enough guard to save my fingers if I am attacked by some mythical beast. And Carnivore is a way better name than wolverine anyway IMO. Great work brother!

Very cool. And interesting. Almost panicked because at first glance it looked similar to my new one, but after watching the moving video it isn't. Same idea at least insofar as the med/large field knife, but mine is smaller/thinner and based on the JX-Omega. Same on the straight spine. I wish I had gotten my hands on that small one you got there. I like your designs! Does your challenge coin have a number? Just wondering if they are all different. As for the carry options when you talked about cross draw...Vic put these removable/screw in D-Rings on my new JXV sheath. Might be an option you can explore. I think if he included two of those on each large knife sheath it would add a lot of carry possibilities.

Thanks... Pretty standard and straight forward design. I tend to design more to the simplistic side of things. I was contemplating going 3/16” but this design was originally intended to be sightly overbuilt, hence the 1/4" stock. Ironically that Chanto you had was my initial design being the larger blade yet 3/16". My coin is 00 ... Not sure if they vary. I'm looking forward to checking out your next design... I tested your Omega... It performed very well... Nice balance... Great general camp knife and well rounded.

@@outerlimitless That SK-85 ARES was one of the few blades Joe X couldnt destroy in his brutal extreme destruction testing. I hope WT keeps using that steel.👍 Love that straight spine. I prob need Two of them, one user and one to keep pristine. Only thing id like to add if they are ever available would be some blue and black handle scales since they contrast so well with that polished blade. I have that on a Busse BM it looks striking.

I like the design of the knife but that sheath needs to be streamlined.
@outerlimitless
@outerlimitless Жыл бұрын
When I first saw the sheath I was a bit surprised. Keep in mind WTG takes the first pass at the sheath design to get the basics worked out. From here I can make suggestions. I do feel like the sheath is wider than it needs to be, but I do understand why. My field use video will focus heavily on the sheath design and find the sweet spot between function and form. But YES, I agree with you completely...good eye!

Refer to the use of new sheaths such as SOG or Cool steel
@outerlimitless
@outerlimitless Жыл бұрын
@@dive518 those are injection molded sheaths... You need to realize those sheaths are developed for mass produced models that create thousands of copies. The setup of an injected molding process would trump the cost of the knife and literally double the unit cost of a knife. Kydex is a knife by knife molded sheath that allows an efficient number to be made as needed without the setup and machining costs of injection molding. So although SOG and Cold Steel have cool sheaths it's far from viable with small batch production.
