I love the vlog!!! For your branding under the mugs are you using a stamp you have made and normal stamping ink??? And it’ll fire on without any problems?? I’ve never thought/ seen that before!
@fromtreetosea Жыл бұрын
I'm using a stamp I got made at a local print shop and an underglaze stamp pad! :-) you can stamp at bisque or on greenware - I got mine from Sounding Stone (canadian supplier)

Hi! Where did you get the scoring tool you use in this video?
@fromtreetosea Жыл бұрын
I got it from Sounding Stone - it's a Canadian pottery supplier but they have an online shop!

About how thick do you roll your plates out to?
@fromtreetosea Жыл бұрын
I really don't measure but I'd say like a quarter of an inch! :-)

Please tell me how you roll your handles so round! I’m also a potter and all my rolls end up flat? 😭
@fromtreetosea Жыл бұрын
I think I need to make a video just about handles 😂 I always get asked this! I just gently use my palms when rolling and use a rolling out motion, if the coil gets flat I turn it on it’s short side and lightly pat it down! I’ll try to show it in a future video :-)

What do you have taped to your plate forms? Plastic? Newspaper?
@fromtreetosea Жыл бұрын
it’s cut up canvas wrapped & taped around thrifted plates!

What do you use to color your clay?
@fromtreetosea Жыл бұрын
mason stains! I just get them from my local pottery supply shop :-)

As someone who knows nothing about pottery and is a first time viewer of yours, why do you wear a mask while mixing pigments? Is it just so you don't breathe small particulates in? Beautiful work btw!
@maddi9545 Жыл бұрын
It’s because the dust is really harmful if you breathe it in so its to avoid breathing it in 😊
@fromtreetosea Жыл бұрын
yep it's got chemicals in it that can be dangerous for your lungs - it's more an issue when the stain is still dry as you can inhale it! thanks so much for watching! :-)
