As it turns out, I'm working the elections this year. Every state has different rules and procedures for in-person early voting; here in CA, for example, voting stations are open for in-person early voting up to 10 days before election day. P.S. I just turned in my mail ballot. YAY VOTING!

That same year, I had to skip the November 3 general election because (1) we were already on lockdown, (2) my father, a retired computer scientist, was on kidney dialysis at the time. A Covid infection for him would have been a death sentence.
