“I am much more than what I do for my profession” ❤ great reminder for us all! Are you working to live or living to work?

Yes!!!! On the playground. We got our daughter a playground for her first birthday and everyone thought we were crazy! But she loves it. She is 14 months and she can climb up the ladder and go down the slide all by her self (with supervision of course). Few more months and I’m sure she will master the rock wall also.

Put in a huge sandbox. Make sure it is big enough for everyone to sit in it. We built a sandbox and then put the play set inside the sandbox. Our kids played for hours every day out there.

Emma, I can so relate to your desire to find balance. I decided to stay home after my 2nd child was born. I knew it was the right choice for our family but guess what??? When I was home with them I missed that other part of myself…being an educator, being creative, being able to put on a different hat. I have 3 children ages8,10, & 11. I just went back to work full time this year…I have learned that there are seasons in our lives. We can have it all just not at the same time. Balance is a tipping scale all the time. When I look back now I am sooo grateful to God that I was able to be home with my babies. It was hard and there were some tough days but I had peace about my decision. I am grateful to have been present. I had an identity crisis during that time…I had to figure out who I was without my role as teacher. There is no right or wrong answer for us mommas…you just have to get quiet and listen. You will know what the right choice for you and your family will be. Sending you and your sweet angel love 💗

I'm born and raised in Washington state and honestly rain makes me happiest! I love my state because we get all of the seasons but the side of the mountains I live on (Westside) it's not too extreme! It's nice to have Spring/Summer days but I'm weird and typically get seasonal depression in the summer because I miss cozy rainy days!

Honestly I feel like being a first grade teacher is probably the hardest teacher position because you are responsible with teaching them to read. That is a huge responsibility.
@mrs.jessicaelaineholmes2137 Жыл бұрын
As a first grade teacher I can relate to this! Especially if students didn’t grasp a solid foundation in kindergarten now you’re trying to teach them two grades at once! It’s been so hard.

I 100% agree!! I taught 2nd grade for 10 years then jumped down to 1st and it was SO HARD!! This year I moved to Pre k and it is so much better than 1st!! First is so hard!

I very much agree with this but I might be bias since I’ve never taught upper grades. But it’s definitely challenging- in the best ways!

Montreal, Canada! Legit winter!! It's still freezing and snowy here 😣 Can't wait to be back in dresses, jean jackets, and sandals!! Spring break for my school was the week of Feb. 27-Mar.3rd. Also, as and Early childhood educator i think Jordan would be at the age that by the summer, she would typically LOVE sand/water tables for outdoor play, as wel las working on digging with shovels. Plus a little slide with steps to practice gross motor skills of walking up steps, and a low balance beam or walking stones to practice balance and eye foot coordination ◡̈

I’m a little behind in your videos but I hope you had a great spring break!! My girls spring break is April 3-10th and I can not wait!! You could get Jordan a Little Tykes playhouse for your backyard. I think she would love it!! Also in the summer you could get her a water table and a little baby pool.

6:57 the older they get the easier it gets sometimes lol my son just learned to say no so everything is no no lol but they are soo fun. I think a playground set would be so nice. Taking her to the playground to see how she does would be good. During the beginning of the summer my son didn’t play at all he would just run then around the end of August and Sept he loved the playground he climbed the stairs when on the slides.

We got a small-ish metal swing set/slide when my oldest daughter was 2.5. Honestly I think any sooner than that and it would’ve been too big. We had a little tykes baby swing and got a lot of use out of that until she could sit in a big swing. I love your week in my life videos. I worked until I was able to stay home when my oldest was 3, and that tug and guilt you feel is so real. You’re doing a great job!💕

I live in West TN. We get all the seasons from 100 in summer to 0 in winter! Our fall is probably one of the most beautiful in the country. I too am ready for spring/summer. I totally agree that once we give it to the Lord and remember His timing is always right, that brings peace. I am retired but was a working parent/teacher for 36 years. I always felt blessed for the job as hours and time off are not matched by any other profession. I loved being a teacher and have recently started working two afternoons a week tutoring at school as I missed it.

Now I’m back to working as a 1st grade teacher- first time taking on full time! And it is so hard!!! I love how you discuss work life balance, and encouraging us to keep pushing forward. I super appreciate how real you are when it comes to all things teaching while also still maintaining a positive mindset. I’m getting ready to take a job teaching 8th grade ELA while still finishing up college (& did I mention I’m already a year ahead bc of dual credit classes 🫠), so I’ve been feeling ALL of the things as I get ready to take this leap. This has been my dream for SO long so I really battle feeling scared that I am romanticizing it in a way that will lead me to disappointment. That being said, it fills me with so much JOY to see teachers who still love teaching even on the hard days/weeks. So, THANK YOU!!

I am also a teacher and mom to two little ones. Some days were hard to part with my kids and in the afternoons I was so tired to play which made me feel like a bad mom. Still today, I struggle with this but I know I am trying. Keep in mind, you get to play with yiur child other moms work a 3-11 pm job and only have weekends with their child. We (you) are a gift to your child. I part ways with my kids for a bit but when we meet after school they tell ke about their day, I tell them about mine. It's ok, just know we are trying.

Little tykes makes a slide that's the right size for her age. She'll be able to still use it for another year or two. And it's in the $20 to $30 range on Amazon. Sometimes walmart has deals on it too. Also, chalk and a bubble machine are great outside toys as well (and decent prices being under $10). Also they make kid pools that she'll be able to use too. Around $10 to $15 dollars. Depending on the size you want to get
