It's so frustrating watching these because I feel like I know what is wrong with the tracks but you are already like 100 episodes into this let's play so I hope to god you figured it out. When you lay the tracks, there is a black arrow at the end of the the tracks telling you which directions those tracks are set to (the direction you drug your mouse.) I am almost positive this is it. I noticed it on the first episode that you had track arrows going all sorts of ways. The suspense is killing me and I have so many episodes to watch!

I see you are a man of culture as well... Then allow me to offer you some tips🙂 - People work 8 hours a day, and have free time 16 hours. So basically you will divide your workforce in 3 work shifts. That's mean you need people in working age about 3 times the demand of workforce needed in your city to operate 24 hours. 🙂 - Supplying your industry with workforce using train is not very effective if you plop it in the middle of Cargo Train lane. In the at least, you should consider giving exclusive access rail to passengers station so you passangers trains won't fight over rail lanes with your cargo trains. - I see you want to import some commodities from abroad. Good luck with that, but do keep in mind that the closer you are from the border of each Blocks you are; Nato for Dollars, Soviet for Rubles, the cheaper the extra transport costs which effectively helps your shopping expenses. - Using mud road to plan your city is a wise move. Because it's free to build, can be deleted without loss, and can be upgraded to higher quality road should it is in a proper position. Have fun with the game boss!!

Please do not make a straight railway line intersect a train turnaround loop. Demolish it and make your "main line" bypass the freight station and the passenger station altogether. That will be very efficient.

Old video it is certainly too late, but your train problem is easy: Your passenger train needs a signal BEFORE getting into the loop, otherwise, when your export train is in the loop the semaphores will freak out because 2 trains are in the loop at the same time. One obvious solution is to move you passenger station "one tile" back and put the semaphores before it gets into the loop/roundabout. As i said probably too late for you, but for future viewers it might help :)

How about instead of having 1 cargo train running a circle... put in a warehouse and run from outside to central warehouse and a second train from warehouse to export. Then you don't need to have the big circle that is confusing your whole train network. make it simple. simple seemed to work fine ... the circle is what broke your network.
@MikelNaUsaCom5 жыл бұрын
or make the circle bigger so that trains never reverse... they do a huge loop and only go through the stations in 1 direction. 2x the tracks, but 1x the frustration.

I know, totally necro, but I only just got the game a couple days ago. I messed up with the happiness buildings and had way too many people "escaping", my industrial sector horribly understaffed, and then the trains...ffs I could not figure out the signals. I was about to toss everything out the window. But, come here, watch a couple episodes, and I feel great again. Love the game, love the monstrous scale, everything! And, like you, love seeing how everything has grown w/ the zoom-out at the end of the episode. :-)

With such a system, it was possible not to lengthen the ring, but to close it from 3 sides - the passenger station, the cargo station and from the side of the state farm. In this situation, while 1 train would be in the ring, it does not matter in which direction all the other external ones would be waiting for it. And with the new semaphore logic, which was added with version 8.5, you can easily make junctions of any complexity, since the trains do not block a block of tracks but a route (intersection / track), that is, the capacity here would have increased to at least two trains in a ring, depending on their length.

I'm severely late to the Party, however, and forgive me if you've learned this already, you need a signal for each intersection of railway tracks. They break the railway into sections/blocks, only 1 train per section is allowed. Best places for them is just before and after branches, and crosses. For 20:24 you need at least 22 semaphores.

Had to go back to 2nd video for what was going on here. You mention a siding. Those are for trains with multi purpose lines. Freight, passenger/express. The freight train will pull off on a siding and wait an hour or more for a passenger express(mail) to come through non stop before moving on. They used to do this before 60's-70's(?). Not so much anymore. Once planes come around people stopped using trains and mail goes by trucks. Also don't think it's in the code if it will be added. Options with pictures and colors. Oooo, ahhhh. prntscr.com/ndg2d1 Options in red for your future coal station. Move it somewhere else. Place it last after you redo the loopy doop mess. Build a bypass for it and pull out the through line. Build a yellow bypass under the area. Move it a little farther than I did. You'll want more space later. You don't want a future "STAMPEDE" of trains later. Ohhhh. That's right. King got some too. Otherwise you will have problems. Turn around loop is fine but it you wanted to make it look nicer and block it right. Move the cross over and power down the line. 2nd prntscrn. You can bring the passenger rail down a little farther down. Maybe turn the station a little so you have more room for a better loop. Dat Jankiness. Did you have froot loops for breakfast? HA HA prntscr.com/ndgi9o Signaling prntscr.com/ndgbdx At cross overs and intersections. Never but the signal right up against the switch. You want to make sure the exit side for each train can fully exit the switch before getting out of the block. I like to place signals the same length or a little longer distance as a cross over farther down the track and extend exit side a little farther than the inbound side. It forces me to not put anything to close and next signal farther down the track. Make sure any train can fully exit a switch before hitting the next signal. If it gets stopped it will block up the switch station switch etc.
@stimpymcstimp64425 жыл бұрын
Straight crossings are also considered as one block so surround it with lights.

Why not have a mini tunnel or bridge under or over the 'main line' letting whatever intake lane split to whatever destination you have with another for the output 'track'. Sure it would be costly initially but it will give you less headaches in the long run.

Why not have one line for the goods, one for the passengers, there only is one of each trains on the last part of the lines, so they can go up and down the same line as they please, no crossing over, no blockages. The only thing to then worry about is the export train, but surely it can be set to go from the station loading to the coal loader, then export, then back to loading goods, coal, export, repeat, repeat.... that way the only clash/blocking would be at the goods station, BUT you can have a signal (ONE!! signal, you have waaaay too many as is for only 3 trains ;) !!!). the one signal would stop the export train from entering the station until the unloading train heads back to fill up again at the farms. (or add a Loop system... linky-poo: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passing_loop). The game seems fun, but the trains are killing me! lol. :D

Hey Party. DDR will be probably "Deutsche Demokratische Republik". Also one small touch... in that agricultural area you should build paved roads instead of those dirt one. It will be effective for productivity if those heavy farming machinery can move between fields with ease and also those service roads leading to power switches, conveyor belt hub thing etc. should be just paved as well instead of those asphalt ones. One question: Is there a way to build normal houses for one family or there are just those big blocks? Keep up the good work tovarishch ;)

Also preferably block the entrances so that you are not seen approving your own form. Then it is all hell if the secret police get to your tail for using the car to steal a piece of bread for your family from factory scrap heap.
