My brother is a pathologist over two different hospital's labs. He's never told me exactly what he does day to day so this was cool to see. Id rather have done forensic pathology, but that would've been another 2years of study< and he had already been in school for 13 years.

Is it possible to decide the number of cassette s require for a case at the registration step(cassette printing step) without gross examination of the sample.

With experience you can get familiar with how many for certain types of cases and size of tissue. When I was learning while accessioning a case I had a cheat sheet with how many to do standard for certain case types. Then as more cassettes were requested on a case, you see patterns and over time you just learn it.
