Stress is not experienced when we have to work for long hours or when we find that the work at hand is too difficult to handle. It's experienced when we are attracted to the result and apprehend whether the result will be upto our expectation or not. So, the best method to alleviate stress is to give up attachment to the result of the work. How can we give up attachment and develop detachment? Our rational thinking does not help. The answer is found in the magic words of Bhagavad Gita, where Shri Krishna is saying to Arjun, whatever you are doing, do it as a sacrifice unto Me. - 'tat-kurushva mad-arpanam' and by that you will always remain stress-free.

In Bhagavad Gita Shree Krishna said Arjun do your duty, don't be attached to the fruits of the efforts. Stress is not because of hard work.But when mind is attached to the outcome ,it becomes Stress.

In this material world stress is a very common thing. Whatever we do we feel like stress. It does not come from hard work or long hours of work. It comes from the expectations of required results. Expectation makes us attached to the result .When we dont get the result, we end up disappointing ourselves. This occurs due to our ignorace of knowledge. Because God is our Father, Master and Beloved and we are His servants.His happiness is our happiness.Our duty is to work for the pleasure of our Master and rest He takes care of everything. When we understand this we will not be stressed any more.

Working for long time continuously may cause physical strain , but if that continuous work had some noble intention or strong motivation , then before the enthusiasm of the mind , physical strain vanishes into insignificance . A positive mindset keeps one stress free . Our attachment to the results of our actions causes stress . If we leave the consequences to God , we will be free from stress physically as well as mentally .
