I appreciate Pat’s information especially about the chin strap. I haven’t been using one but now I will be using it as Pat described. Thank you

Hi there Pat, I have been watching your videos for awhile now, this one in particular really helped me. I went out to work with my mare following this lesson, and by the time I was done she was already responding better . So while it is still so hot in Phoenix I am going to work her in hand using your guidance in this video. Thank you for the time you spend helping others learn.

Pat, you and Deb always make my day when I get home to find a new video waiting. The way you explain things and teach history are excellent. Thank you for taking the time to share!

The curb or hobble above the reins can act as a pre signal when you pull on the reins...

This is great, but my question is I’m not near as tall as you (5.2) & my Percheron is 17.1...what do I do bc I can’t reach the reins on top of him like you do. Is pulling to side I can reach still okay? PS-love the history too, ‘getting them light’ TY

Pat the curb strap above. l have always done it that way. l have argued that forever but I never changed and won't. There might be just two of us old farts doing it rite.

Where can I find a dealer for the sliester bit?
@PatnDebPuckett3 жыл бұрын
There are none. The company went out of business several years ago. The only source is eBay and certain Facebook groups. Or lucking out and finding one at a garage sale! You can buy a Jeremiah Watt bit from Bitterroot Saddle Co. The link is on our website on the Links page.

You would also use romals with a half breed, right? (ps. my King rope with breakaway hondo came this morning.)
@PatnDebPuckett4 жыл бұрын
Yes, for our own personal horses. Many people like to use split reins and that’s fine too. The spade bit is the only one that requires romal reins.
