Working at BAC Stevenage C1975, British Aircraft Corporation F444

BAC (British Aircraft Corporation) was a major employer in the New Town of Stevenage during the 1970s. This film was made by BAC in about 1975 to attract workers of all types and skills to the factory. It shows what it was like to work at the British Aircraft Corporation division at Stevenage, what was made, who made it, much of the factory, and some of the associated Bragbury End leisure facilites.
As someone from Stevenage myself, please let me know if you recognise anyone, and if you worked there. If you did, I hope this brings back a memory or two!

Bragbury end was an excellent place for BAC families. It was even used for West Germany,s football team to train for the 66 world Cup. I belive England also trained at Bragbury end .

Great to see Bragbury End. Such great memories of being taken there by my dad in the 60s and early 70s. I don't think any of it is there anymore is it?

from a time when large factories had great social and sports clubs. Now the factories are long gone or no longer employ thousands of people to warrant a sports ground along with social club buildings. They`ve mostly been sold off for housing

Hello - do you know whether staff would have been provided with housing in the period in which you were an apprentice? If so, what was the standard of the homes? the basic layout etc
