After just watching the film for the first time, it's so weird and jarring to see who I assume to be Tess be played by Sandra Bullock instead of Melanie Griffith. Lol. XD

It was a confusing show. The film was far more dramatic whereas the TV show came across more as a comedy. *shrug*
