I stay just off Junction 8 of the M74 (Larkhall) and had gusts of 101mph in the area. There were alot of trucks overturned, so luckily you weren't up here.

Hi Darren. Just watching the windy bit. As you're waiting to pull out of the side road after being loaded, I notice the lamp-post swinging a bit😅. I'm also looking at the all the cars parked on the grass verge under trees. Don't know if they're parked outside their homes, but I would park them on the drive, away from the trees. There was one time, when we'd bought a new caravan from a dealership in Mansfield (yes, I know a long way from Manchester🤣), and the caravan was empty, so very light, and had to cross over Woodhead Pass, and it was rather windy going over, although not near as bad as you're getting, but we were down to just 30mph, and sometimes even slower, Yes, both the Fylde area and Cambridgeshire are as flat as a snooker table, so will get the wind from all directions

Oooo yeah I wouldn’t go over woodhead with a caravan 🫣 could only imagine the panic of getting a new caravan and the wind hitting it, glad to hear you made it back safely though

I fasten the curtains up and do the buckles up on the curtains on the front half of the trailer before opening the back of the curtain in windy weather, makes the job a bit easier. Great vlogs. Keep safe out there buddy 👍

Thankfully we came away unscathed, others weren’t quite as lucky. Unfortunately some transport managers thought it was a great idea to send high sided vehicles into areas with a red weather warning.

When there’s storm warnings you should never be using the high sided curtains, but as you mentioned they still get used

I use the ear pods from Apple, there little expensive but great quality and last a good while, they are a little expensive though

You're right it's been pretty breezy lately I'm all for a ban on HGV's being sent out in high winds it's about time health and safety got involved along with the DVSA.. They've made hundreds of rules up for everything else.. If anyone has ever noticed most of the artics that get blown over have got a certain type of trailer on with no roof supports.. Keep the curtains tight as you can otherwise it'll act like a sail.
