“Using a drum machine with guitars is different but I’m sure it’s been done before” Umm yes... by a Manchester band from the past: New Order! 🙄

Honest question: which is sadder? Someone deliberately copying music from 40 years ago or somebody who doesn't realise their "different music" was around 40 years ago?

It's fresh to them and why not just appreciate it for what it is? Good music. If you haven't noticed most modern music sucks.

@@littlesquidward8117 Trust me I'm very up on my music and of course it's all subjective and yes I know the industry only promotes a handful of artist but I can't think of many artist today that they will be speaking about in the future like they still talk about the Beatles and the Stones. Since music became more digital it affects our frequencies differently. I listen to mostly funk from the 70's and 80's with a side of G funk nothing today compares. Also when you become aware that most if not all are seed of Cain it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

I think WMC ARE awesome. All music has historic reference points. Having a sound rooted in early New Order is a pretty decent way to start growing your sound. I think you should cut them some slack tbh

The Detroit techno scene might be curious about the house scene. Theyre like a Factory tribute band claiming never to have heard of Factory Records

Imagine saying Manchester is stuck in the past when your band sound like a JD/NO tribute band. WMC are good but come on, be self aware.

O….k? If you sound kinda like a modern Joy Division in terms of vocals and instruments used, and you’re not a post punk band, what are you then, Syd? I’m genuinely curious! New-new wave? 😂 Acid punk? Synth-punk? Punk-acid-synth-wave…punk? 😂

Now that Mark. E Smith is dead there will be countless Fall replicas popping up. It's embarrassing how much they plagiarise his ideas and sound. And even his attitudes and how he spoke.

Has he never heard of... the 1980s? Or any music since then? You should ask who his influences are, and how he thinks they made their music? But of course, they're not influenced by anyone, they're radicals and innovators that live and create in the moment, not the past. They were the first to make music combining the most used percussion in the last 40 years (Roland drum machines) and arguably the most played instrument in popular music (guitar). Such a egotistical and stupid interview.
