I really appreciate you showing the daily life of a cop like this. Seems like a tough job. I watch a lot of bodycam channels and know how mad some can get at the cops. Must be part of the learning process to know how to deal with an irate drunk driver.

I'm not a cop, but I worked on Holidays SSOOOOO many times! Whether it was doing fast food, security, or machining. Doing security was the worst about scheduling me on Holidays. That's when I switched careers (I worked overnight in security). When my parents and grandmother were still alive (I'm a lot older than you. I retired early), I tried to spend time with them as much as possible. You are on point when you said that.

Im a mom of 3 so I plan a year ahead every year on the days that I need to take off, I make sure I have enough OT built up and I put my off days the first week of that month that I plan on taking off. Plus I work the night shift so with Holidays I don't have to take off.
