I like you because you are honest, funny, love your crochet projects and reviews, you are a great mom, great wife and an all around awesome person. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, and if they do don't believe it. You and I have a lot in common with trauma and life experiences. I am who I am and if someone doesn't like it that is their problem. I like who I have become as a strong, loving person because of it and so are you!!!! Keep being you!

The reason you resonate with so many people, is just like Kayla, you are down to earth, honest, caring, strong & REAL. Oh, and I forgot...hilarious! The crochet & yarn stuff is great, but the icing on the cake is just listening to you ( and Kayla) talk. I'm sitting down, just hanging out with my friends, and it has brought so much joy to my life❤ Thank you for being that person to hang out with❤😊

You are not the duggers. Take his schooling one year or partial year at a time. There is a chance that he can do dare classes independently and scouts or music lessons or swimming can get him some social interaction. Relax you got this. It seems bigger than it has to be. High school and college are far away, he has time. This year can help him recover and discover what he really enjoys. Your candor is part of your charm.

I did want to pop in and tell you that you might actually find that Little Man settles down and is actually easier to deal with in time as you work through homeschooling. The daily stress that he was under in school will slowly fade away he may actually calm down somewhat, and be happier. Be gentle on yourself and patient with both of you as you learn and grow through the process. Wishing you the best of luck with it!

I have 2 grand children that are 10 and 11, sis and Bro. that are home schooled, and they are very smart. They read way above grade level, good at math and science, and always wanting to know more. They live in Missouri, and came to visit me in Md. for the first time. They saw tidal waters, sea shellsl ive for the first time. They were teaching me about the seashells, the birds and the sea grasses they had never seen before live and in person. All their toys are puzzles, art supplies, and stem toys. There is a lot of good that can come from home schooling. The visit Colorado a lot during my sons vacations, and learn about the mountains, rocks, flora and fona, they visit museums and zoos. Overall, the are probably doing better than public schooled children, and less at risk than they would be in Kansas City schools. You got this!

Wow! You just spoke all the values I live by! Like you could read my mind! Felt the same way about the Duggar family too. Relationship with God had to be on a personal level and what you feel in your heart. And Kayla inspires me everyday! How I admire her and she has changed the way I feel about my personal battles so much! I love her and you too! Thank you for sharing. Best wishes for sweet little man in this summer and new year coming and hope the homeschooling thing really works out. There is a lot of info out there so just keep gathering ideas. So many people are homeschooling now. Have a great weekend! ❤

Jen I use to be very anti home school. Both my children are older and we sacrificed and both worked to send them to private schools in the hopes of them getting the best education in our area. Well it worked with one child. She has one year left of law school. The other is 30 but just got his crap together and got an Associate Degree in Medical Technology. I have seen many homeschooled successful children. Follow your heart. You are a good Mom. You have lots of common sense. Love your channel.

Hi, I like you because you keep things real and I enjoy watching your channel. You are a teacher, a creator, and a friend to us all. I wish I had had the conviction and confidence to homeschool our ds. He is now 32, and was diagnosed with Asperger’s first at 7 but it was later changed to high-functioning autism. Unfortunately, we left his education to the professionals. Realized too late they were teaching him and others to take the tests to pass them along. Wishing you all the best! 🧶🫂

My mother read a lot, to herself and my siblings and I when we were growing up. My favorite childhood memory is my mother taking me to our town library, and the librarian taking me by the hand to the section of books that were 'for my age group'(I was about 8 or 9 at the time). She picked out a book, put it in my hand and told me that it had been a favorite of hers through the years. It's called "The Boxcar Children". I am now 64 years young, and I still have vivid and fond memories of that book. I try and read it at least once a year. Even though the author wrote many more books in the series, I have yet to read them all because that first one holds such dear memories, especially now since my mother has passed.

I just turned 57 last month and also believe that the imagination should be part of yoir everyday life. I make a lot of amigurumi's and love to make up stories about them to help gi e me ideas to build their characters. I'm also an avid reader when a crochet hook isn't in my hand and I can see the characters as I read as well. I'm a firm believer in keeping that inner child alive. I'm hoping that your wrist continues to get better. I hope that you didn't snap that tendon. I had a fall years ago and they kept telling me my elbow was just sprained. After over a year of not getting better an having limited mobility and such they finally did an mri and the main tendon that attaches to the elbow had snapped so I had to ha e a major surgery to repair it and all the damage. So glad you are going forward with homeschooling, I'm confident he will thrive on that atmosphere.

I read all the time and I love audiobooks because I can crochet while listening . My doctor believes I have something but I won't get tested because at my age I feel what would be the point . I have learned to function and very well if I may say for myself. The Duggars didn't homeschool with an actually homeschool program and I know people who have done both. I personally have seen the ones who follow a program do better than people who have just made their own. I love the idea of homeschooling and if my kids were little I would definitely be looking into my options.

you have probably received all the advice already, but I'd like to share my perspective with you... I was homeschooled for a few years, my mother didn't have set lessons to teach me, there were "end of term" tests that were sent ton her, that I had to take (and pass in order to continue out of 'regular' schooling) but Mum just made up what she'd teach me in between... I was reading "adult" level books like lord of the rings before I was even 10yrs old. and doing the grocery shopping was my maths lessons - Mum would tell me "this is how much money we have, and this is the list of what we need to buy, anything that is left over after we get the list completed can be spent on a treat" it was a great way to learn budgeting also. I still budget that way now - rent, bills, groceries, travel expenses then whatever is left (if anything) goes to 'luxury' items like yarns 😆 (sometimes I take money out of the groceries to buy certain yarns I want/need for a project that week though) What I would suggest though, is that if you are homeschooling Little Man, sign him up for some kind of after school or weekend activity (that he is interested in) so that he gets social interactions with peers. I find it difficult to make friends/interact with people because I didn't get that skill as a child (plus neurodivergent brain and anxieties making it harder) Good Luck with it all, it can fun, and you can teach so many things he won't learn in regular schooling (especially if you make "educational" trips to see things and places around you)🙂

My daughter did some research on it and discovered there are more people that don’t see the book play out in their mind than those of us who do. Personally, I think the research is wrong. My daughter and my self have always saw the characters, where they are and everything. My daughter’s youngest was bullied in elementary school, she home schooled her until high school. She put her in high school in 9th grade and she is making As and is on the Varsity cheerleading team. She plans to go to college and is looking for a part-time job at 16 years old. You and little man can do the home school thing. My daughter put her children in Florida virtual when they offered it. If your state offers something like that, it will save you a ton of work and record keeping. If not, you can do it anyway.

My daughter granddaughter was homeschooled for 3-4 years due to the bullying issues at school and covid and I have learned as the grandma being the teacher that they're very needs to be a very firm knowledge to the child that Grandma's grandma went at school time. I'm teacher otherwise it's a. It's a big fight. She's also ADHD and is on medication and quick tempered and no filter say what she wants to say and we struggle to get through school. So just my advice is stay strong and make them realize that there's a difference between the teacher and the mom

At a girl for the real investment you are putting into Little Man. Last night we watched one of our home-schooled granddaughters graduated from technical college. Our daughter has home schooled all five of their children but Washington state is very home-school friendly. WA teams the home schoolers with public schools which allows the family to make the decisions for each student’s needs. My husband suggests you get beetle juice to combat your beetles. I actually was thinking you just had T find some ting guitars and drum sets. 😂

I homeschooled my daughter from 4th grade on. She’d only ever gone to private school even and it was the worst with bullying etc…even from teachers & teachers kids. I’m not bashing teachers. I come from a family of teachers, but it was just awful experience for her. I knew she had something different , even though she was very bright and got all A’s. She’s still struggled in ways that were not being recognized. I paid to have her evaluated myself out of my own pocket and she is dyslexic. She’s 20 now and she’s bright, smart, caring, considerate, and responsible. Best thing I ever did. We used khan Academy a lot for things and she did very well even in the AP classes. We also love the magic of Disney World and also universal with Harry Potter world

It sounds like your niece has Aphantasia. I have that too. I can't visualize things in my head at all.

Hey Jen! So you went down the Vallow/Daybell rabbit hole too? I did too! I cant stand Chad! Thank goodness I live in the sticks in Iowa and can yell at him on my phone screen! Today i was calling him every nasty name in the book and telling him what a low life coward he was. His current wife may be crazy as h*ll but at least she stood up at her sentencing and made a fool of her self, lol!!! He wont speak! Except, as you indicated, to mouth words at the prosecutor during closing arguments! I dont really care what his sentence is as long as it is at least life w/o parole. Death might be too good for him. Unless they bring out their firing squad. That might be cool!!!! (No, I'm not crazy. Just angry after hearing Tammy's family speak of the devastating loss they have suffered. And he sits there with no emotion.) We shouldve teamed up as criminal prosecutors! We would have kicked some butt!!!! Only the really bad guys though!
