In this video we talk about how to get started working with deities, gods, goddesses, & divine powers on the path. I cover recommended approaches, as well as what you need to understand about taking on such a pursuit. This includes how to begin, how to approach, & how to build a relationship with a deity you wish to connect to.
While it is not required of any spiritual or magickal practitioner to work with deities (and some of us have relationships that function more like family relationships with spans of time very actively engaged & then some not), it is a worthwhile subject to explore & observe for your own education & understanding as you walk the path. These are not cosmic cash machines, match makers, therapists, or tools, they are very much active & conscious aspects of the cosmos & must be understood & respected as such.

I have a guide called Henry. He came to me at a very dark time in my life and has been my guide ever since. I don't know what he is. An angel? A spirit guide? He doesn't really identify himself as anything other than Henry. He never tells me what to do as it is my choice but advises me with my choices. You talked about family connection and our relationship certainly feels that way. I appreciate your post tonight. Sometimes I wonder if I'm imagining all of this but he's been with me for over thirty years so if I'm crazy, it's not temporary insanity. LOL

Thank you, so much for this information. My deities have been explored before I dived into divination; Athena,Isis and Hecate. They all hold a different attribute in our connections. I have worked with orisha Oshun and I felt connected but I should of been exactly what you said, aware as to why I was wanting to utilize her energy. I was wanting superficial energy. Period. I am still connected to that deity; however, I have learned to respect this deity VERY DIFFERENTLY in so many different ways. My grandma from my father side who I connected with as a little girl has always been there. She was a medium and very much in magic and esoteric. She was the witch in this small town in Puerto Rico. I loved her so much and she always told me as a little girl that I had the same gift as her but I was still her son, father daughter. It makes so much since now as an adult and my mother who was very close to her and older siblings tell me that I got the “gift” through her. According to some of my relatives they believe my daughter Skylar is my grandmother living through her. Reincarnation. I’m not a medium the way she was. Spirits would enter her and you would hear your relatives through her; my father who was her son did not connect with that part of her and it terrified him. I have both energies running through me.I have literally felt and heard her telling me go in a little but it has been that same energy of hers to pull me back. I’m ok with that, she knows me so well. You told me, that everything, I've been doing intuitively--- Is ***CORRECT*** especially, the: Knowing thy self, and treating thew deity when they approach as I would a good friend!!!--- And I always prefer a deity/ deva to approach me. If they are a malefic I will discern, and block!!! I had that happen once, since moving to the Coachella Valley, in California (ten years ago)

I was very reluctant to work with deities having “total power exchange” modelled for me in my strict religious upbringing. They came to me out of love and admiration for my willingness and truthfulness and I was very pleased find out worship feels slimy and clingy to them… especially to Athena lol. Thanks for the information - very important work on this channel.

This is very fascinating thank you. I made the mistake of try9ing to ask Hecate to do something for me, having never worked with her or showing interest. I made offerings, but lets just say, I did not get the ask answered. I am entering into a relationship with Kali, who is an aspect of Durga. I have been teaching yoga for years, so I am most familiar with some of that pantheon I also work with angles and am getting to know several of them. I do just spend a few moments connecting and appreciating, but I am being asked to give them a little more time and space, cause there is A LOT that I am asking to be shifted.

😁 This is more my thing. I always ask myself: "Am I attuning to Deity? Are Deity and I in a true relationship? Am I accepting Deity's teachings, gifts and all?" and so on. Maybe I am a very theistic pagan. 😁
