A friendly FYI @4:04 to maintain detail when using molds with foam clay, put the molds with the foam clay in the freezer for an hour then take the frozen molded clay out of the mold to air dry it will maintain its detail perfectly

How does it do in sunlight? Any warping? Sun damage? Etc?
@KannonStudiosOfficial5 ай бұрын
Good question! I should really try some testing on this. All my stuff mostly stays indoors. I'd imagine it would deteriorate over time and maybe crack.

After air-dry foam clay dries, is it supposed to feel spongy...like rubber? Curious only. Thank you in advance.
@KannonStudiosOfficial Жыл бұрын
Yes, it can feel this way because it dries very slowly, but over time, it gets more dried out and becomes more firm and sandable.

Do you think I could use this to make small mushrooms to attach to car air vent clips ? Would temperature mess it up?
@KannonStudiosOfficial Жыл бұрын
It can handle high temperatures so I think it could work!

What type of paint can one use for this? Just any? I want to make some mini-pumpkins but would buy orange to not have too much effort with it. Just to add some shading I’d have to add some paint.
@KannonStudiosOfficial Жыл бұрын
From my experience, all the paints I've used so far works. I've used those cheap $1 acrylic paints. It worked well. You can use primer paint first if you wish. White would make the orangebrighterand create a nice surface for paints. I think I've also used gesso as a primer for these. Hope this helps! Good luck with the project! 😁

Can you use it to copy a design of a metal dragon face

Should be able to push the foam and use it as a mold.

It's about 24-48 hours, depending on how thick it is. :)

Is it easier to paint over the black foam vs the white foam?
@KannonStudiosOfficial Жыл бұрын
I haven't noticed one foam coloring harder than the other to paint. But if i wanted a very bright vibrant, a white backing would be nice. Something more shaded, the dry brush techniques on black can be nice. I hope this helps! 😄

No matter how much or how little mold release I use, I have a very hard time removing foam clay from the molds. 😱😑😡
@KannonStudiosOfficial Жыл бұрын
Oh no, how frustrating! For these, i didn't use release, but I'm working with a silicone mold. I also take them out right away, and I didn't let them sit. I hope this is helpful and you will be able to get it to work!

@@KannonStudiosOfficial cosplay guys recommended freezing it for at least 24 hours for curing, then more if needed. It seems odd that this suggestion is so…odd…, but I guess it’s worth a try!
