Working with GitHub Apps instead of a PAT

In this video Rob shows you end to end how to create a GitHub App and use it as a service account to get access to other repositories. Using a GitHub App has the benefit of using fine grained scopes, limit the App to only the repositories where it will be used (for example all repos of a team), and using an App does not have the disadvantages of a PAT (Personal Access Token) like becoming invalid if the user leaves the org, or having access to everything the user has access to (to many repos, and potentially to many orgs, especially for Classic PAT's).
