Good lecture. I've noticed that all the personality traits people have can be both bad and good, depending if they are used to the right degree and in the right circumstances ... under control. Stubborness can make you act stupid, if it was time to give in. But it can make you brave and cause you to do good and not give up in other circumstances. I learned years ago that what bothers you most in other people is probably a weakness that you have. I realized one day that I got very angry at proud people, especially at work. I didn't think I had pride to a faulty degree. But then I realized that I got angry when their pride crossed my pride, and since I got very angry, that meant I had a lot of pride. It wasn't that I should have no pride, but that I was being ruled by pride, without realizing it.

This is great. In particular, the explanation of the relationship between para aduma and arrogance. Does this refer to the concept of a healthy ego? And right, you have to reactivate the own ego to overcome depressive moods. But there are much more profound thoughts in this lesson. Thank you.

So we must balance our right eye with the left eye. We start to judge others positively. That requires chessed. With the left eye we focus on Gevurah by self examination. The positive result is Tiferet.

can we say that the left eye is actually the mirrored eye of our own negative attributes?

Maybe that when God is present, He is Spiritual, when God is absent, He is Physical?

My understanding is that Gd is present in the spiritual and in the physical. Rabbi Menussi has another post that he talks about the Jewish perspective of the physical via-a-vis the Olympics.

Also Gd is every way at all times. Sometimes our perception of Gd’s presence is lower and sometimes we are more aware. But Gd is always always present.
Did you know that there were TWO Eves in the Garden of Eden?
