Yeah that's a bug :/. Observers have a chance to fire when you reload that chunk. Also you should probably build this all on one chunk and not between 2 of them.

I build it in one chunk - so that is not the problem. After 3 to 5 levels up i fall through the stairs. The XBOX Bedrock version is always faulty - MS or Mojang will never fix that. They only fix problems, which are not essential.

I found the problem. So in the part where you are supposed to put repeaters under the observers, I just didnt do the right ticks :/

@@Midnightgalseems to work if you move in a very specific way, really hard to time though (you (kind of) have to move sideways as it’s going up, best way I could do that is to sprint as the first piston extends). I have a more old-fashioned design that seems to work slightly better (it uses a lot of repeaters)
