A decidedly avant garde short subject film for 1950. Our dad had a 16mm copy that he showed us one evening after dinner. Needless to say, I was big-time impressed. Thanks for posting.

I just read about this in the Cage-Boulez correspondence from 1949/50. Wow. The way that the images and the music fit together is amazing. The structures created on the basis of their aesthetic value, asking nothing from the audience and just existing for the observance of their beauty.

Would it be possible to color correct this film ? The reds were probably a lot more vibrant at one time.

WHAT? Not a word about HERBERT MATTER who directed this short film? A major photographer/graphic designer known for his pioneering use of photo-montage in commercial art. The designer's innovative and experimental work helped shape the vocabulary of 20th-century graphic design. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_Matter
