Workshop Shelf - TV Surround Pulled From Gaaabage.

I've been specifically watching out for home made pine shelves thrown into the trash. I've pulled about four or five out of the garbage. Originally I wanted to just save them for the wood, repurpose the boards for other projects.
Even the very rough tattered boards can be used for roof repairs as homes were built with #3 knotty pine years back.
This particular shelf was in a trash pile and at the time my truck was loaded with an appliance. However, the opening in the shelf was just big enough for me to set the shelf around the appliance. I got a kick out of that at the time.
Now the day came where I needed to reorganize the " auction bays " at my storage.
In past videos I've shown how I'm setting up a workshop with the Walker Turner woodworking tools. A couple weeks back I decided on a better floor plan.
Each time I travel to storage I do a bit more, and I'm happy to report I'm making a little progress.

Editing. I'm still in the bad habit of piecing clips together.
I have the foresight to talk about some film that I will add in later, but my thoughts and ideas still bounce around.
I'm guessing because I need to be working as I film, and can't follow a script.
But if it wasn't for KZbin fun....
It is well worth it, and the comment sections are something I really look forward to.

Looks so much more spacious now, you really have been a busy chap! Those cans reminded me of my bedroom decor when I was in my late teens/early 20's. Good times and many bad but that's all bygone years. Have a great weekend 👍🏻

My brother and I used to collect beer cans in our youth. When we were too young to drink! We had a good collection. I honestly don't remember what became of them. A neighbor of ours gave us a couple Foster's Lager cans and we thought that was the coolest to have Austrailian beer cans! It was a simpler time! 😊😊

@@timeflysintheshop Haaa! That is exactly where those cans came from. They sat on a shelf, then lived in a box.....and now I think they will go back up on the shelf ( top shelf ) Maybe one day somebody will walk in and want them.....and they will go home with them. They are a valuable memory....second only to the memory of giving them to somebody else.

@@timeflysintheshop I used to have a couple of Saparo (if I remember correctly) cans, it was a Japanese larger, the top if the can used to come off completely, wish I still had them as they were great pencil/pen/whatever holders. Would be useful in the shed.

@Bloodshed.restorations Have you ever tried using one of those can openers that cuts around the side rather than cutting down into the top? They work on steel cans, I womder if they will cut the top off a beer can? If so, you can make a holder out of any new or old beer can!

Office.....yipes. That reminds me...I need to find the office. I thought the taller pile of papers was actually the desk. Turns out it was one of the Ag school doing community service hours. Good thing he had a packed lunch under the with him.

It's 2024 @@Everythings_Adjustable ! With modern tech we've got this election rigged. You can vote if you like but beer cans are going back up no matter what the polls say. ( Just before checking for messages I sent an email out about a KZbin review video. The video was fine, however if somebody were to read through all the comments...they were all one line comments as generic as a horoscope. If you were to read the comments first, then watch the video there is no way the video lived up to the hype. Are there bots doing this? .....What kind of a world do we have if you can't trust TV, or KZbin Advertising? As seen on TV ....then it must be good! )

You are making this comment just to make me smile harder. I'm laughing because those two are just sooo cool. I've begun using them after they sat for a lifetime. One came from the end-of-the-day scraps at an auction...most likely 20 years ago. The laughing is because I had mentioned in other videos that I would swap out the wires....and I had them in hand... but my storage is not heated so painting needed to come first while the weather was warmer. It took me three visits over three weeks to get that wall done. The temptation was there.....Painting vs playing with drill presses..... A little update...the configuration of the wood working tools has changed...maybe not for the better. The drill presses will stay where they are as they are just as much automotive as they would be for wood. All the other woodworkers have shifted to the other side of the space. This move opens up the bay for a car or truck that can reach to the workbench. If all goes well, Monday I pick up a load of shelving that might address some of the clutter....might. tHanks for stopping by....tHanks for bearing with me as I write out my thoughts so I can be more productive next trip!

That shelf turned out great. I think I liked the cans better except that now I have a powerful thirst that I can’t explain. I never did understand how someone could drink so much of something and still be so thirsty. Gotta go. I need to get down to the doughnut shop and get a fat pill before they’re gone 🍩

I always like it when you share your well made plans. It is inspiring. I may actually leave the cans there...only higher up. Seems to me that the dust would not really harm them and I can't imagine they have much value (That's probably what they said in 1966...just before crushing countless 55 Chevy's. ) Not shown in the video I put in a chalk board. I needed help as it weighs as much as a pool table on its side. Above the chalk board there is a space in the wall that will get a shelf. I think the two of them together will look even better. I hope anyway. What has your attention this weekend?

....now that you mentioned it...... Storm doors seem to be popular down by storage. Anything I drag down there finds a home. I did however get one that came from a dumpster. It is new with damage. I figured it could only be used on a green house. Here is where you come in. How would you build a green house on two railroad tracks? or maybe two lengths of angle iron? Imagine you have a 12' by 10' green house on a 20' rail system. The house slides down the rails...this way in the heat...there is no problem. Yes? No? maybe....

@@timeflysintheshop Yes, exactly. Eventually the plants are hardy enough to stay outside. The green house could then be parked to one side.

@Dancing_Alone_wRentals Ok. Assumig the greenhouse is too heavy to lift... One side, or at least a short section of it must be removable, or hinged so it does not scrape the plants off the ground when the greenhouse is moved. Other than that, it should work. Though what is going to be under the greenhouse all summer? A brown patch of ground? It seems like it could be used for something practical or decorative all summer?
