I own both of these systems and what you said is spot on. I can't stand the app for the T'Stak however. I just can't get it to work properly for me. I find it more nuisance then it's worth, so I just uninstalled it. Both great systems!

I have the tough system radio. The sound is magnificent for a work radio. We use it all the time within the back of our box truck. Changing radio stations can be a little bit cumbersome, but I wouldn't think it would be a game changer. You won't get better sound out of a work radio than the tough system. Plus, the tough system boxes hold a bit more contents compared to Tstak.

I've been waiting for DeWalt to fix the ToughSystem media player for three years. When add clips so it can clip into the L-cart and fix the top door, I will look at spanking down the crazy price they want for it. I didn't think about the FlexVolt size problem. Well spotted.

Thanks for this comparative review. Last year, I sold my Milwaukee M18 drill pair and bought an entire Dewalt XR Kit with lots of various tools. Bonus is that Dewalt keeps making other great products like the 20V Blower I then purchased or the the Trimmer and now these available items with an IP rating. 👍🏼👍🏼. I’m in. Maybe they’re electric lawn mower some day. Thanks again for your review.

Just bought the Tstak. I just got into the tough system and l love it. Personally I like toughsystem better then tstak but I just really liked this radio. It’s cool that each set all connects but realistically your not going to stack the radio on something else and carry it because it’ll get too heavy. Quality wise, both radios kick ass. I think the tstak is the nicer one with the larger storage box and easier to open

On the tough radio or tstack, Once its connected to bluetooth and music playing. Can you still use your phone for text and streaming... or will it auto disable the music. ? Or if getting a incoming call. How will it effect it
@WorkshopAddict6 жыл бұрын
I am an android user so this is my experience. You can text and take pictures without an interruption. If you get a call, the ringer will go through the radio and the phone. When you pick up the phone and talk, nothing will go through the radio, its like it is not connected to anything. Once you hang up the phone, the streaming will start again. If you go to KZbin, the streaming will pause and KZbin will play through the radio and you will have to start the streaming again manually once you close KZbin.

observation: @3:10 his favorite channel does not have reception. I would take it as step further and say about half won't indoors and I'm in a large city. My old DeWalt that they sold 1 zillion of for 20 years did better indoors, it had the 6" black rubber antenna and The sound/ volume was better just by pointing forward at you as opposed to trying to play theatre-like in 4 directions whatever that's about. The quality of sound at 3 feet away is better nowadays but you may prefer the old design just due to firing at-you-only. For Pete's sake you already know 80's rock lyrics. That said I listen to 1 80's rock channel and 1 Christian song channel mid-volume so my VersaStack will be acceptable. For EVH eruption you'd want the boom box he had on the workbench. The only PLUS to these is that they stack. So you kinda forget it cost $200 just to stack.

Damn I just bought the TSTAK and don’t get me wrong this thing is awesome and totally worth it but I wish it was just a little bit louder.. For a job site it’s perfect and plenty loud, however one of my main uses is on the weekends I put it on the front of my quad and go out with my friends and I don’t have a crazy exhaust but even at full volume it’s only a little bit louder than my machine at full blast so you can hear it on rides but like a said louder is better. My other fear is that I’m going to blow the speakers out for running it at full blast for some times 4 hours nonstop but I guess time will tell. If this one blows out I’ll try the tough system. That’s my input. Like I said though the quality of the TSTAK is really nice also left it out in the snow overnight and it was totally fine so it can hold up no problem at all

T stak is much better, and I havnt had any problems at all using the app. I had the makita before, and that is absolute rubbish compared to this and the reception has been much better with the t stak

It is bizarre to me the lengths people will go to listen to garbage radio when you can listen to your own music or streaming services.

in a group setting, your own music may offend other person and bring the efficiency of the group down, while radio no one has a solid ground to complain about what's on.

Totally agree. In a group setting radio is the only fair option.

I got a laser that came in a tstack case, I want to upgrade to 60v eventually, but sound quality is a big issue for me. I want clear. Maybe they will make a 3rd one

I prefer the t stak any day over the tough system, I haven't heard any distortion at all. I use it for dab and don't have problems with reception, certainly 10 times better than makitas dab radio. If you need it loud enough to get distortion then perhaps you should get your ears checked.

How long does it take to charge the flex volt batteries that's the biggest thing is it a fast charger? Because if it takes 6hrs to charge a 6amp battery it's no good and the one for the tough system if it doesn't take the flex volt batteries that's a no go for me even if I don't need 60volts it's nice to have the run time
@WorkshopAddict6 жыл бұрын
I have never timed a charge on a Flexvolt. Anyone else know on the TSTAK?

Funny how craftsman just cloned the tstak radio and called it the versastack radio
@WorkshopAddict5 жыл бұрын
It sort of follows suit in how they moved all the DeWalt tools to the Craftsman line also.
@NG_KR5 жыл бұрын
They didn’t really clone it they rebranded it. Craftsman and Dewalt are owned by the same company.

Would they sound good if I play video games using them? I'm looking for a all rounder music and videogames speaker or whatever you call those.
