During contract negotiations, if the agent is playing hard-ball, you should put the agent's fee to £0 and lock it in. Then agree to the other demands. Negotiating will slowly become easier.

You've stumbled onto something that I didn't know I would be interested in! The moment where this year's season ends-- the episode whete you flash forward 5-10-15-20 years. I think it would be so cool of you take your Assistant Manager and make him be a super wonderkind - and then when you retire and hand the reigns over. You are handing it over to a 25 year old super coach and you see how he does with the club and elsewhere as you flash forward

In the Sam Fahey contract negotiation for example: why are you not working with the other bonuses and clauses to lower the base wage? Is it just because it is a bit boring for content? Otherwise you could have definitely signed him for 75-80k with a couple of performance based bonuses.

The contract issues is something I noticed this year. Getting all these long contracts on low wage ain't worth it I'm my opinion. You need to pay them more to get them to agree for the contract for them to develop as players after two years and demand a shit ton more or be unhappy. Going forward I don't think I'll push to get them on longer deals since they will piss and moan after a couple of years anyway

I wish negotiations were a bit more realistic, like agents should say if you want a 5 year contract (or a 5+3+2 or whatever) that have a minimum fee release clause and a shorter contract wouldn't. But conversely if they have a 30 Mil minimum fee release you should be able to say piss off unless that is hit

I have never known someone to be so tight with contracts/wages with a team in the prem. Im Celtic manager and my highest earner is on £140k per week! I get it is hard to move away from the mindset of being in lower leagues, but prem money is ridiculous, even without Champs league. Stop being so tight haha!!
