She literally broke. Actually i think she kept her sanity for quite a long time. Since W12 everything is happening to her and her world: terrorism, she was shot, infected with L-bacteria, suffered and died in W13, was betrayed by people she trusted, by family, by friends, hero, keep losing people important to her, her subjects, ppl who trusted her to keep them safe... That's when we see why Erina is important in her life, like a safe haven to Lilith, because even with everything happening at the same time around her, Erina is the only person to always trust her and that she can count on to keep by her side... Now imagine if even Erina is gone... remember the secret message from the future sent by Lilith in the alternate dimension? They are like 2 sides of the same coin. If you have played Dungeon Link you would understand how important they are to each other since Lilith was a kid. Their relationship is amazing imo Even the fact that Erina became Lilith's personal Cookie maker is explained in DL. It was a promise and a bet, obviously Erina lost 😅.

So the robotic silhouette is actually Mecha-Heavenhold and not Oghma? I also suspect that the silhouette that we think of as KAI will turn out to be Kaden who will side with us again in the world to come. I thought it would be cool if the hero from the past became one of the champions. Somehow Erina will inevitably forgive him even though I know it's almost impossible. Kaden will be the last world boss 18 against Dumbface and Erina, LP and Mecha-Heavenhold against Giant Labose.

Remember that scene in world 16 where Kaden went inside Heavenhold's Center Control Room and saw KAI laying down without power. My take is that Kaden put his remaining ounce of humanity (data) into KAI, since Kaden is throwing his humanity aside for his master plan that is the giant labose flower.

It was shown with the expedition story and the Prophecy plates in the previous chapter. Kaden tried everything to stop the Prophecy that told about the end of the world. He failed countless times and in the end driven to despair he became the Plague Doctor to find a way to save the world doing whatever he can even if it cross lines that should never be crossed.
