Something should be done about the changeovers in the 4 x 400 relays. The incoming runners hand over and then just head in any direction they like, seriously hampering runners from other teams who have just taken the baton. A rule should be introduced that requires them to go straight ahead so the other runners at least have an idea of what to expect in front of them. It's total chaos, and has been forever, but nothing ever gets done about it. Many teams have lost races in the past becauuse of the ground they suddenly lose at a changeover, and it's not only unfair but totally ridiculous.

One of these days a collision is going to cost some nation a medal and all kinds of protests will be launched. Then will come the dubious rules committees who will come up with some fix that costs a few million. Meanwhile, athlete prize money is disrespectful and they take all the physical risks with no health insurance from world athletics. I think I covered the general screw up that is the 4x400 transitions… phew!!! Im out of air 😂😊

For the qualifying mixed 4x400. I think Bahamas should have given Miller-Uibo that anchor against Femka Bol. Bol looked like she was taking a jog around the park ( she didn’t even break a sweat! But that Ellis from USA! The way she walked down Nigeria’s runner was a sprinter’s wet dream lol. She stalked her from behind, and put the hammer down and it was over just like that! Great running from all the teams. I love relays!

That’s what I love about Femke Bol, when she sprints it doesn’t even look like she’s trying, it just looks like she’s jogging 😅 that’s how good she is. She’s one of my favorite new athletes. And I agree, Miller-Uibo should’ve been the anchor

I agree with ghengisful that something needs to be done about the exchanges. It's amazing how many times the runner finishing their leg of the relay impedes the next runner from another team. The rules need to be more explicit and not so generic as alialibaba quoted. that quote doesn't address the problem!

The third leg runner from Botswana tripped up TWO runners in TWO separate incidents in the same lap, shown in the slowmo replay at 45:21. First she cut right in front of the Japanese runner, sending her crashing in between two men. Then she tripped up the Mexican runner by running too closely behind her, taking her down completely. This girl doesn't know how to race properly. No situational awareness. She's like a land mine to her competitors LOL.

The reason they quit having men run against women in mixed relays is to save the women's feelings and allow them to continue with the delusion of being equal to men athletically.
@rdgipson6 ай бұрын
That delusion isn't held by any of these world class female athletes. They all know how big the competitive gap between themselves and the men is. The delusion is held by ignorant feminists who know nothing about athletics.
@joyce26806 ай бұрын
@user-ph9nv1ks7z Listen ... can you hear that? 20,000 bc is calling their caveman back. The women aren't deluding themselves ... you are deluding yourself. Like every other athlete, they just want the opportunity to compete. Those mixed relays are fun.
@RobertWynn-t1u6 ай бұрын
You missed the point! They now have the women racing in the stages against each other, instead of against men. That being because the men just fly by them. When racing against each other, they don't have to suffer that humiliation. Those races are fun.
@joyce26806 ай бұрын
@@RobertWynn-t1u You're missing the big picture. To you example: aren't there men who blow pass men in the same leg and women who blow pass women on the same leg? Whether it's all men or all women per leg, each team has to get the fastest time possible. What makes the Mixed Relays interesting and fun is that T&F is not afraid to step out of the mundane and level up the game! Why are you afraid and angry?!
