I also like being a big kid, often relating more to a child than I do to what I would consider to be an adult, with regard to the way I view the world and social interactions, etc as well as how I cope with day to day thing that many people take for granted. I think your childlike sense of wonder is a particularly endearing quality and it’s something I really like and admire in people.

The eccentricity and cuteness you convey in your videos is so sweet and wonderful. I too have always felt like the odd one out so I completely understand how you feel. In school I received a lot of attention, much of it unwanted, because of how I stood out from the crowd and how my behaviour didn't conform to what was considered to be the norm.

I subscribed to you originally because I loved your voice and how you spoke. I do that, I love finding people who speak interestingly. It draws me in, and of course, I find all the things you talk about fun, and I like learning about new things and what other people like. I think you're such an interesting, amazing person and I honestly do love your videos so please don't ever stop making them.

I share your love of collecting and I collect a wide range of very differing things, among them film and science fiction DVDs and memorabilia, soft toy pigs (which are great for cuddling and snuggling, the closest thing to a hug I can get at the moment), clockwork toys, Chinese lucky waving cats, things that light up, sparkle and shine, stuff related to photography, and lots more too.

I think it’s great you like being unique and individual. I often feel the same way. I just wish that being Autistic wasn’t such a lonely experience. I think you’ve done very well here in conveying how Autism affects you and I really like to way you show your creativity not only here but in all your videos. I absolutely LOVE this video and the courage you have shown in opening up so honestly about your life and experiences. It’s very inspiring :)

I can also relate to the way you describe your emotions. I too often feel very passionate about things and while my frustrations never really turn into anger as such, I can easily get depressed, particularly when I read about or see something negative which I can become all too easily fixated on.

I agree with you about hugging. It is a very wonderful thing. Sadly, I don’t have anyone to hug me :( That kind of physical contact is something I really want more than anything but I don’t have anyone to give it to me :(

Sure, it may sometimes seem like a negative thing but this is because of the way the world reacts to us as Autistics, not because of anything to do the condition itself. Autism makes us each unique and special in a way that many NTs, who are obsessed with ‘fitting in’, will never be. This is particularly evident with you in the form of your delightful eccentricity and cuteness. I agree completely with GhibliFan1 about your eccentricity and cuteness.

I get what it is like to freeze up in offline social situations. I used to freeze up all the time and even now still do quite often. When I know I am going to be participating in any kind of social situation, particularly if I don’t know what to expect (as was the case with a certain Autism conference I attended recently), I often become incredibly anxious, so much so that I find myself wanting to back out before the event or whatever is even upon me.

This is particularly true of many things in the news, which I find so depressing and often terrifying that I now try and avoid it all costs. I have often become really down really fast and had difficulty expressing the way in which I was feeling, something that was particularly the case after the death of my mom whereby I actually ended up repressing many of the bad feelings that I didn’t want to deal with, something that resulted in me developing horrible tension headaches.

I would like to see a book comparison video as book browsing in stores is getting harder and harder with companies pushing online and e-books. Cannot imagine you angry. About puddings I was hoping you would do a video on the Dalek cakes from the advent calendar. Your voice also attracted me to your videos. Also a buffy fan; surprised you do not have the Buffy/Angel Love Theme "Close Your Eyes" in your head jukebox.

From experience, I have found that the only way to overcome this is to face it head on but it never really gets easy sadly. I think paranoia is par for the course with people like us really as many things in the world are naturally very scary and it is hard for us to process it. I find this happens to me a lot, even now a full decade after being diagnosed with Aspergers and having quite a lot of help to prepare me for the real world.

I also have very sensitive hearing (I think a lot of Autistic people do in fact) although I don’t generally feel the need to use ear plugs at the cinema (it helps though I tend to go when it isn’t as busy). In loud and crowded environments I tend to get sensory overload because all the voices of everyone around me merge into one undecipherable and overwhelming mess of noise that I just cannot stand.

hi i liked your video its cool you can talk about autism and stuff. I think people don't realize that there are many different levels to it and its not all bad news ! I liked your review of the tv program how tv ruined your life, i love charlie brooker as he makes me laugh and i thought i was the only one. can you do a video on any tv that makes you laugh or you could recommend? its always nice to find new tv to watch :-) keep up the good work .

I also relate to your difficulties with relationships. I have always struggled in this area pretty much my whole life, with friendships being difficult to form and even more difficult to maintain and romantic relationships seemingly beyond my grasp. You mention having a boyfriend. I was wondering how you have coped with this kind of relationship as I have read that maintaining this kind of relationship can be very difficult for people with Autism.

@mentatphilosopher Thank you. I've gathered all my autism books together so I can do videos about them, I shall get my boyfriend to attempt a Dalek cake making video with me. I shall have to get listening to my Buffy CDs again. : D
