It is not healthy at all, even reaching 100 in duel links in 3days is frustrating, and master duel the game is longer. But it is hard to find out a better way. If you make it last longer like a week, nothing would change but everyone would be forced to play it for a week which is more frustrating.

I kinda feel like josh didn't take this tournament seriously. He was playing for fun and everyone else was playing to win. Why not just play SEFK? Multiple top players like Ryan Yu succeeded with that deck. He took the deck to worlds so he is obviously good at it. Instead he is choosing to play decks he isn't experienced with and misplaying constantly. Please try harder for the next DC Cup, we want to see you at worlds again!

I agree with you. I watched all of day 1 and he was bouncing between cookie cutter decks. Most of his decks were generic and had nothing spicy to counter the meta. The equation cannon Labyrinth deck was the only exception and he did climb with it. He should have stuck with that deck and tried to optimise it along the way, I think he would have had more success. Also his dislike for combo decks such as SEFK is limiting him, there was also a strong pendulum deck that did well in the ladder last month but he would not consider playing it as he does not like combo (or pendulum). That kind of attitude won't make you a world champion again, it is a casual player mindset.

i know this is not healthy, but contrast this with the way that the ocg and tcg worlds are formed. huge time and money sink. if the master duel grind was less grindy anybody could get in the world cup. bots and now with ai would be the norm. at least this way you have to be good, dedicated and lucky to make it. still not healthy but can't really think of a better way that levels the playing field.
