I think the thing with Littler is that, even if he's wiping out opponents in the first round, they can still look at the bigger picture which is that the more successful he is in his youth, the more people he'll bring to the sport and thus more money which will enrich them as well. It's a lose-win situation for them.

Taylor is still the Goat and will probably always be the goat. His averages were crazy high in a time where he had to throw a double in nearly every game. Not having to throw at doubles when your opponent starts the leg is what gets you to really high averages. Littler is a special kid though, can't argue about that.

I think he lost a bit of motivation when Taylor retired, and then fairly steadily dropped off. I was hoping that Littler might get him going again but doesn't seem to be the case.

Thoughts below: Surprises keep coming. And let me tell you... how the mighty have fallen. Especially Snakebite... although to be fair to Daryl Gurney, he played so well tonight. Second only to Luke Littler in round 1. He had his revenge. But the shock for me was Ryan Meikle beating Gary Anderson. Anderson blew it quite frankly... again. And we also had Ian White thrashing MVG... WHAT?! The Diamond has barely been seen in 2024 and he is usually absolutely useless on TV. MVG looks a broken player right now. Gerwyn Price getting booted out by Thibault Tricole as well after he started out so rubbish on his doubles again... just so many results one wouldn't expect. And that's just the main stage...
