What stands out to me is the fact that the boys are enjoying themselves, and that is infectious. Having read the literature about the school on their website, shows how hard these boys work compared to local schools. The results speak for themselves.

Boys choirs can be so embarrassed and unintentionally effete...but this gang combine the musicality of the conservator with the energy of the rugby field. Brilliant!

One of my favorite boy choirs is Libera, from London, England. They have terrific harmonies. But they sing the same songs all the time. Then there is THE BEST boys choir, The Drakensberg boys Choir. Just watch this performance. Singing with harmonies, dancing...they are really the best. Many many years ago I went to the DBC school and met the choir of that time. And years later, they are still the best choir. I just wish I could go back and see a concert at the school again.

I’ve always said, since I got to know them in the 1970s, that the Drakensberg Boys Choir is the best choir in the world, and now they’ve finally proven it too!
