My best friend recently passed away and he was an amazing talented drummer. He recorded EVERYTHING!!! I have hours and hours of practices spanning 8 years thanks to him. Great tip for any musician playing any instrument.

When I was studying to become a London Black Taxi Cab driver. The most efficient way to progress at recalling roads(it was always advised to do it with someone else) we used a ‘cooking timer' 15 minutes each. It was always useful as well to time manage with someone who was better than you. So for example: Paradiddles for 15 then when the buzzer goes you listen and watch the other person. Time managing on your own: 15 mins practice 15 mins rest. It was scientifically explained to us that you wouldn’t focus or be productive for any longer than 15mins; and I can assure you HaHaHa - When we did try for longer: You forget thing/lose interest😉 That 15 on 15 off stamps things into your long term memory. It was certainly helpful when studying "The Knowledge" and it was only after seeing this clip, that I thought about time management when it comes to revision of any kind. And as explained above - The focus you develop in your practice time; is like a pure concentration; almost like a trance like state😉Those 15min segments can feel like 5 mins

As a professional guitarist i can honestly say whatever i get behind my kit it’s the most exorcise I ever get! I sweat and my arms and legs ache like hell the next day ,but that’s how you know you’re working muscles that simply don’t get used just walking or biking! I have severe nerve damage from a car wreck ,are losing the feeling in my left foot and leg ,and playing drums is the reason i even have use of my legs anymore! No cap! It’s more than just therapeutic! Drums really are the healthiest instrument you can possibly pickup! Chris/Crisis

Listening to Benny Greb talk brought tears to my eyes, as he elegantly provided concepts to break through some of the struggles I face to make progress on the drums. Especially writing down the end goals of what you want to accomplish, working on those things consistently, and bringing weight and clarity to the "why" so that the "why" pulls you, instead of feeling like you have to push it. Just amazing. And El Estepario, you are world-class as well man. Seriously. You are phenomenal and are an incredible source of inspiration to me.

Really liked the point of establishing your “why” and that being the force that pulls you on rather than trying to push your way through! Also, I lives the point about treating yourself as a friend you are responsible for rather than being a disciplinarian! Thanks guys - awesome content!

Enorme Jorge, enorme.

You cool man. Just keep head down grinding out practicing and learning. More importantly learning and perspective gaining, that’s exactly how you get to as he is. And any other instrument is same. Slow slow then faster. Then one day I’d you keep at it. You will wake up playing whatever you want.
