A deserved fifth place in the ranking, even though they should be placed higher in my opinion since they have played such amazing matches. They beat a former champion, the reigning champion and almost beat another former champion in the semi-final. If they went to the final, they would have probably even beaten Scotland. Belgium really is a country to keep in mind during the World Cup of Darts!!

What a beautiful tournament. I absolutely loved every second of it and this format is simply fantastic. I’m so happy my team Wales won, Jonny and Gezzy were absolutely unbelievable in that final and proved they are the best pairs team. I wanted them to raise their level from the afternoon and they definitely did that in the most astonishing fashion. I have to say congrats to Team Scotland for reaching the final. It’s great to see Gary Anderson play the way he has and I hope Peter Wright can find his form again. Even though the final wasn’t a blockbuster and wasn’t as close as we wanted/expected, the semi finals were marvellous. Firstly, Wales and Belgium was so close and such an awesome match, all 4 players were playing great but Jonny was the difference in the end after Wales looked like they were cruising but then missed darts at doubles in a few legs got punished by Belgium and Belgium just love deciding legs don’t they? When it went 7-7 I was like I hope Wales get through coz they had the throw but Belgium have been awesome in the deciding legs so far and after the first 2 visits from Gezzy and Jonny, I was fearing the worst but then for Jonny to take out the 100 like that in 2 darts was so clutch and so cool, he made it look extremely easy considering the situation. In the second semi, Germany had the same situation as Wales, they missed doubles in multiple legs and got punished and against a team like Scotland, u simply can’t afford to do that and when Peter Wright took out the 109 I knew it’s gonna be over soon and Scotland finished it off to set up a blockbuster showdown with Wales. Obviously the final was not as close as we expected but Team Wales just played at an extremely high level and did everything right. Scotland would have had to play out of their skin to even make it a match and it was too tough of a task in the end for Wright and Anderson to compete with Price and Clayton who were just unreal and Jonny is so clutch, hitting the dart first go in the semis and the final as if it’s a practise game, the man is so good under pressure and clinched Wales their second World Cup.

Gary loves the Grand Slam and is no doubt overjoyed that he's qualified for it this year after missing out last year! Of course he'd have wanted to win the world cup, but I think if you offered him runner up at the start of the tournament he'd have taken it just for that reason

Wright averaged higher than Anderson in both the semis and the final. 50% on his doubles in both matches. In the semi's he checked out 5 of the 8 legs, including that 109 checkout of leg 12 at a very crucial part of the match.

I love this Tournament , was rly funny to watch. I like Belgium , it was rly happy to watch how Dimi and Kim acting as Team after first round. Either between Gary and Price.. So happy that both joking together and enjoying playing. Also proud of a good Germany, I would like to see em in Finals. It does. Only took the crowds about 7 years to stop the abuse and actually enjoy cheering for one of the best players the game has ever seen. The big take home for those who are haters, was the absolute respect Gezzy and Anderson have for one another, both as men and darts professionals. Crowds held the Grand Slam shenanigans against him longer than Ando did!

Team of the tournament: Belgium. Almost every game felt like a thriller and they almost beat the eventual champions. Best player: Clayton. Wales looked pretty relaxed throughout, but Clayton hit big shots when it mattered. Biggest disappointment: England. Not once did they look comfortable. Every visit felt like getting one treble would be a success. Didn’t help that both players didn’t turn up, which is a shame because even if just one had they might have made it to the final at least.
