Boy, Sasha is so flexible. She's like a noodle. But she often looks like she's lacking in strength to really hold these incredible positions she gets into. She just looks wobbly and unstable at times. Such a tough balance to be both really flexible and strong.

I do not agree on that. This is one of the things spanish commentator Almudena Cid keeps on bringing up about Sasha: she is so incredibly flexible, yet she has such steely strength and such very well developed core center. Thus, her flexibility is very well controled and balanced in her routines. Last year, yes, she was very wobbly and unstable on her flexibility elements, especially backscales, but now, there is no comparison. Of course, sometimes she messes up a little, who doesn't? But to say Sasha lacks strength or control over her hypermobile joints doesn't seem too fair to me.

I agree she is much much better than last year, but I still see evidence of her being wobbly at times. She is, indeed, very strong. She'd have to be in order to have any success at all. But to me, it sometimes looks like she is teetering on the edge between holding her positions securely and losing it completely. More often than not, she's fine and it's definitely better than last season. I just watched a couple of her routines again and it almost doesn't look like the same athlete. She was far more insecure last year. But sometimes she tips over to the wobbly side and she ends up in a position that's not as sharp and precise. It's really noticeable to me when I look at Rita and Yana who obviously don't have such extreme positions but also are very clean in the body difficulty they do perform. It's just a balance Sasha always will have to work on.
