@Beepbeepoutoftheway there are some different shoots, pro players use in the front: pinshot, snake, 1 pass shoot and the pull... dunno the exact names in english, sorry. but the most important thing in this sport are your skills in the middle... there you can stop your enemy. by the way, it is possible to defend... it's important to read your enemy... kinda like a mentalist.

I agree. I played on tour for a few years and had the opportunity to meet and socialize with Jim Stevens (The play by play announcer). I often said to him that I felt he could use his skills in any sporting event. If I remember correctly he had a love for baseball as well, but it was natural to move into play by play for foosball as he was a former player. Sorry for the rambling, but thought you might find it interesting.

In Foosball there is technique, knowledge and mind game, and when you play in a real tournament, it requires some stamina. So yes it is a sport. But if you keep practicing you'll see that soon enough !

Because that's the format at the World Cup, basically the only event you would see this. Every country picks one table to be their home table and in order to win you have to win on both your table and the other country's. In this case, the US uses the Tornado and the French selected the Bonzini. It levels the playing field and makes it more difficult because you have to dominate on 5 different tables to win.

Man this is gay... I mean seriously, I love this game, but when it comes to turning up your front rows before you shoot from behind, position the ball on the field per hand and play two rows with one hand that is just pathetic. Either play all the table, one row at once (leaving your own as potential blockers) or just don't play at all. Are those guys skilled? Most certainly. Aer those guys having fun doing what they're doing? I doubt it.

Is it just me or does the highest level of foosball seem more boring b/c the players are so good at offense that the defense has to randomly go back and forth? I think its more exciting when the players are worse and can actually somewhat defend. The play is also more varied. With awesome players it seems like they just do the same things over and over again. It's always the same scenarios. I know they have to do it b/c those are the best techniques and the surest way of scoring goals, but

I've actually seen some American fans who do call it football. There's probably not too many though because even if they think that the sport you play with your feet deserves the name football it's just too confusing to do it and start calling the other one handeggball.

They switch from a table usally played in america to a table usually played in france. It is to balance the game. Similar to two tennis players switching between Roland Garros and the US Open every two games.

I don't play the game at all but I looked it up that it is illegal to spin more than once on a shot. But shouldn't any backwards spin shots be illegal? It's not like people flip backwards when they kick a ball in real life....

Quick question: Does a goal count if you accidentally make contact with the opponent's player before it enters the goal (ball deflects off a guard)? Some call it a $hit-Shot...others count it as a goal...I cant find a ruling !

I hate how players basically pause the game when their 3 bar catches the pass so they can set up their D. It takes away from the flow of the game. Double is much better.

with mexican soccer tables the goalkeeper can score by holding the ball with his head the goalie has like a cap so that's makes it posssible to do that

I don't think I will ever understand why they continue to play on Bonzini tables in Europe and wherever else they're played on. They play about as good as one of the cheap tables you can get from Walmart or Toy's R Us. It's so obvious that the Tornado plays with much more control. The quality of the passes and the shots are so much better than Bonzini. And yet they still play on what amounts to a cheap imitation table.
