I noticed that some of my banknotes do get curves in them. Some of them are slightly wavy. If you wanted to keep your banknotes in perefect condition you could buy hard plastic pages. They would cost more and would be much heavier though. I read a review that said "Lighthouse Vario 3C" currency pages are very durable and high quality. Type that into eBay or Amazon and you can find them. They are not hard plastic but they are made in Germany. I haven't tried them myself so I can't give you my personal opinion.

+asdfgme I purchased the blue leather one from Amazon. Just search for "leather binder" or "faux leather binder". They should be around $10. The black one is just a normal 3-ring binder from school. Office Max or Office depot also have a good variety if you would like to see them in-person.

Thank you for showing support! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Most of my collection is small banknotes from each country but I would love to expand the collection to larger banknotes someday. I would recommend the _Standard Catalog of World Paper Money_ . It is a useful resource to see every banknote in the world.

Hi, how did you manage to do this?! Can you give me some tips and tricks please?
@Bournefort6 жыл бұрын
Time and patience! :) Most of my banknotes come from online sellers. Also, I became friends with a lot of foreign classmates when I was in college and they gave me lots of banknotes (Cambodia, India, Laos, Pakistan, China, Mexico, Canada, plus many more). Also, anytime my family or friends take vacations, I ask them to bring banknotes back with them. Someday I would love to travel and collect more myself!
@Bournefort11 жыл бұрын
I get most of mine on eBay. It isn't the most cost efficient way to get a collection due to shipping and seller charges but it seems like the easiest for me since I don't know of any currency exchange places for uncirculated banknotes.
@link3rd8 жыл бұрын
im looking to get something exactly like this. I see that there's guys on ebay that sell the UNC notes. I'm really considering buying 100 different notes from 100 different countries and that should get me halfway there. I was always interested in stuff like this, but didn't really know what i wanted till i saw this video. What would you recommend? I can source the other 100 manually from banks and other sellers on ebay. getting a collection like this is a lot of work IMHO. where did you get your notes from? I was also checking the bank im with and they got a couple. Please let me know. thanks for sharing
@Bournefort8 жыл бұрын
I think it is a really fun hobby! I have learned so much about the world from doing research on each banknote that I get. eBay is a great source. About 75% of my current collection came from eBay. I would start with cheaper banknotes (one from each country) to get a "base" established haha. From there, start expanding on your favorite countries and get the whole range of banknotes. Remember that there is no rush to get every country. You can build your collection over years, even decades. In the end, it is about what you enjoy and what kind of a collection you are going for. Good luck with your collection. You should upload a video after it is started. I always like comparing what others have to see the variety of banknotes out there!

A+ Excellent video! Thank you for posting! :) Besides Chess and detailed model building, I really thought that people who collect coins, banknotes, and, stamps, would show some class and see these as hobbies to learn from and help and praise one another, and, not to criticize - I was wrong! :( Besides coins and stamps, I have a huge collection of banknotes I've been collecting since the 1970s. This guy has a small banknote collection - but, he has many banknotes I don't have, whereas I have many he doesn't have. MY POINT - "Learn from each other!" This is a hobby to make friends, share ideas, and, have a lot of fun...not to criticize one another. If you're here to make fun or a 'joke' of novelty banknotes which for some places are all that's available - don't go away mad, just go away! Some exciting places like Antarctica; The North Pole; TV Shows; movies; The Solar System; Wildlife; The Oceans; etc...are also included as novelties in this banknote hobby. If you don't like it, ignore it, and, go away! I'm not an authority on this, I just love it! I'm simply a hobbyist who dislikes negative comments towards people who collect. As far as negative commenters go, do any of you have ultra-rare banknotes from Dubai; Italian Somaliland; The Danish West Indies; Montenegro; German Southwest Africa; German East Africa; Zanzibar; etc? If you don't, ask some intelligent questions! If not, don't go away mad, just go away!
