My question is what kind of a drill rifle did he use? The way he moves it I thought it would be lighter or a different kind of rifle that a traditional school would use. Especially since it's colorful and everything.

It's most likely a NGA impact stock, they are a little different from traditional school rifles in the sense that they are tailored for exhibition.

The term exhibition has definitely changed since my time with drill. The audience had to be quiet during performances too.

@@mr._otis9840 Granted. But this venue was used back in the 90s and early 00s as well for drill comp. The audience had to be wary of their voice levels as that’s what the judges told us each time a team was about to perform.
