This was an event war organised by Only Lalo with prizes for fastest attackers on each side, thus you see lots of fails and a tonne of spam. I wouldn’t say this type of war reflects the th17 meta too well tbh

It is a lot of damage, and as more defenses get levels and bases get further developed then i think dragons will slowly get weaker and other attacks will catch up

the hardest part of edrag is the usage of spells, and its includes both rage and freeze. without sufficient spell to power your troop they cant stand against the backend defence. so its crucial to learn how to manage the spells effectively

fr that's also a good starting point to jump straight into sui lalo once you've played edrags very well, as you can manage your spells very properly now

I think one of the reason as to why they also fail is the fact that they don't know how to funnel the dragons. I mean no offense but look at this attack at 8:20, most of them just spam and hope for the best.

It feels like th17 is harder for ONLY "skillful" strategies such as any queen charge, warden walk rocket loons... but it's easier for no brain spam armies like dragon clone

You dont need overgrow on th17 because there is no more gigabomb and poison on the th, so you can go at it directly

Run a tournament yourself with pick and bans, eric. The only tournament i watch rn is Carbon’s Pick, ban ones. Supercell isn’t likely to care about competitive side until there’s another world championship. We gotta find ourselves fun, right?

The giga bomb and poison removal from TH is a good switch for bases to spread out defenses. I think the main purpose of this change is to reduce the firepower of TH had for years and make other defenses shine which for me is a good change

Th17 is hard, if not but better than th16..It's not easy to triple now with other skill strategies because of more damage defenses..dragons attack also can fail if you can't keep your heroes alive..as next update probably in feb with new levels of ss,mono or other things..th17 hardmode meta should be fine..just hope sc doesn’t release any broken equipment or new troops lol

The nice thing about dragons being strong but still failing a lot is that it will promote a meta where high skill attackers will be able to outperform dragon attackers and the people who only rely on dragons will likely not reach end stages of tournaments. I guess only time will tell

I hope that supercell waits for nerfs until more people are able to upgrade their base. I’m sure the meta will shift on its own without them hastily nerfing everything before we get the chance to upgrade our air defenses, multi archer towers, black air bombs, and firespitters. On top of that base building needs to adjust too.

Dragons are way better without clone blimp. If you funnel properly on both sides to push the dragons into the core, they easily clear everything with minion prince frost and no th poison. OG and RC spear can take care of backend defenses. People use clones because they aren’t bothered to funnel, but it’s just so inconsistent.
