Thank you to all MOTFD fans who came to check out this video! Please stick around and subscribe, because there's a LOT more incredible music coming out of Japan that the world hasn't clocked yet, and we're doing what we can to show it off. Don't miss it!

When I used to listen to their songs in Japan before the hiatus, I shared their music with my friends, but I didn't get much of a response. However, one American English teacher, Brian, told me he loves MOTFD and used to see them live. I was so surprised! This definitely convinces me of their current popularity abroad. I’m very happy about this and hope their music continues to spread even further.

Found them through a friend from Japan when they released their EP in 2008. Instantly fell for their sound. Amazing that they are still around.
Had the pleasure of seeing MOTFD last month in Brooklyn. It was the first show I’d seen in years and I still don’t know a single word they are saying but it was one of the best performances I’d ever seen. The crowd had a friendly atmosphere and a great energy. Will definitely be seeing them again on their next American tour.

I've been following them since 2008. After thinking they were probably done forever, it's been so cool to see them reform and gain so much recognition world wide. I was at that Seattle show they mentioned, and it was fantastic. When I discovered them in 2008, I never in a million years thought I'd be able to see them on tour in the USA.

I am fortunate enough to have seen them now on both U.S. tours in Philadelphia. First time at the Underground Arts, and the second time at the wonderful Union Transfer. It’s been a dream of mine to see them and when I did it was almost reality-breaking. The first time I saw them, they came out into the general admissions area a little while after the show and met with the fans. I will never forget the conversation we had in Japanese as I have been studying it for years now. It felt truly fulfilling to have had a heart-warming conversation with the band about visiting their country and other music-related things in their own language. Their faces lit up and it made all that studying worth it even more so than talking with people over there. Isao even recognized the Bathory goat head shirt that I was wearing which was the last thing that took me out completely haha. Never knew the guy loved black metal but I couldn’t have been more of a fangirl after that moment. Can’t wait to see them a third time. ありがとうございます😊

Thank you for this. Saw them in September here in Portland. I’ve been going to shows for decades and it was one of the best I’ve ever seen/heard. Such a magnificent band. They actually sound like they could be from here. Love Isao’s Poison Idea (legendary Portland punk band)t-shirt.

Last year when they went on tour, I remember talking to my friend, who's an even bigger fan of them than me. I was on Spotify, and I clicked the shows near you tab just out of curiosity, not expecting to go to any. Then I saw MOTFD is having a show in November, and I paused my friend, and told him look. He went silent for a second, then started excitedly saying, "We have to go see them." It came at such a good time because maybe days before we had put a couple of our friends onto them.

What an amazing video. MOTFD is one of my favorite bands of all time and their music is so important to me (I've gotten to see them live in Philly two years in a row now!). To get the opportunity to learn more about them is truly a treat, especially as someone who doesn't speak Japanese.
I've put off going through their discography, but I definitely want to start after finishing this. Amazing documentary!!

I had the pleasure of donating to their kickstarter when they first came to the US. On that occasion, they were not playing close enough for me to see them. Fortunately, on this last tour, ~2 months ago, they were in Minneapolis and I was able to see them. They were amazing and nice. (They gave my daughter the set-list, and said she and her friend were かわいい!) I cannot wait for them to come back, and for any new music they release. 私はMOTFDが大好きです!ありがとうございます。

Been listening to MOTFD for a few years now and love them. I missed their NA tour last year and only heard they were over here at the end of their run, but had the chance to see them at the end of this September and they put on an amazing show. I was surprised at the age of the crowd, it was definitely the youngest crowd for a Japanese band of the shows I've been to here in the states.

I've been a big fan since their self titled E.P. released in 2008. I had a full body smile, when I saw that their $5,000 goal kickstarter for their first North American Tour, was overfunded to almost $55,000. MOTFD, we love you :)

Nice to see them again in this video after seeing them in person with my son in Detroit. We have been huge fans after he saw them in Nagoya. It seems they have a life balance between creativity and professionalism. A magic formula to stay around even longer. I often wonder what they think about US audiences fervent reactions (Detroit was rowdy) VS Japanese crowds. Your video speaks to that a little. Thanks for the insight!

I had a long think about the title-would it be right to call them ‘Japan’s Greatest’? But having spent so much time with them (this video took nearly a year to make) and seen how their humility means that the only thing carrying them to global stardom is the quality of their music and performance, I’m happy to stand by it. There may be bigger Japanese acts out there with major label backing making headlines and playing arena tours, but no one has achieved as much as MOTFD in the way that they’ve done it.
