World of Color full test recorded from the Grand Californian

Coming back to test after seeing footage of the 2022 versions, it's quite jarring to see how originally they used a lot of fountains and fire compared to the current version. I guess they needed to cut some things out for budget reasons until they can re-install/fix the other fountains and fire effects.

This was recorded at the Paradise Pier Hotel and this is the video explained on the world of color wikipedia page about how a guest staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel recorded a 25 minute video testing of the show and was posted on youtube on April 7, 2010.

Seeing that unused Chernabog tower effect was so cool! Its a shame it got scrapped before the premiere.

it's amazing how much has changed from the slightly changed opening, the majorly changed Little Mermaid, Dory and Marlin, Whole New World scenes. The removal of Hercules and the addition to the Never had a friend like me. The removal of the flames in the beginning of the villain sequence. And the removal of the Chernabog tower. The removal of the female singer of so close. It is still amazing though.

I can see why the show changed to what it is today. some scenes were either too lengthy or were lagging. but overall it gives you a preview on how disney Imagineers work soo hard to create someone sooo beautiful with the help of dedicated people and hard work and lots of patience. They came together and created World of Color!!!

i saw it in person 4 times, once on opening night (june 11) and 3 times on my previous disney trip over my fall break from school! it is amazing and yes they changed some things to improve it. i like it better how it is now. :)

i went to the cast premiere but had to stand very far back. my advice is to get as close to the middle front as possible. if you're in the front but you're off to either side you can't see the pictures well and you'll be sad! get to the middle, and hell who cares if you get drenched? it's amazing and it's a summer night for goodness sakes. keep your tech stuff in the car if you dont want it to get wet. i saw the show and it's breath taking to say the least. disney goes big 100% of the time.

P.S. disney stores around pier will be selling ponchos + towels. bring extra money for new world of color light up toys/wands/rings/jewelry and for special world of color food. like light up cotton candy, multicolored popcorn, flashing drinks.

They really did use the deleted "A Whole New World" soundtrack from here for the new Fantasmic version that premiered back in 2017. They should have kept that scene with the "Go the Distance". I also wished they did not remove that tall tower thing where Chernabog will appear.

Guys (and Gals) the whole program can be changed in a matter of hours they have sixty mixed versions available right now programmed in to the shows patterns including a holiday show its all done by computers!
