Nah. It was more about the fact he was busy recording lines for FFVII:R and World of Final Fantasy. That, and Nintendo probably cheaped out. Square's property is expensive so that's why we only got two songs from FFVII, not even remixed.

I feel like Cloud and Celes are brother and sister from the same mother. XD They've even got matching pissy/serious faces. Idk I never shipped them. Celes needs someone who is a bit more open with his feelings than Cloud is. Both Celes and Cloud are prone to being closed off when they're upset. Celes needs someone who can open her up. [Like say, a certain roguish adventurer who loves blue and white bandannas but hey, i wasn't a dev on this game ; ) )

Defril Prihadyansyah Yeah, lmao. Locke was a spy correspondent for Edgar. That requires a level of intelligence Bartz *definitely* does not have. Interestingly enough, if you look on the FF wiki, you'll see in Locke's profile that him and Bartz had very similar childhoods. Locke traveled regularly with his father until he was about 9 or 10; then his father passed away from who knows what. The profile doesn't say what happened after that, but I think it's safe to guess that Locke may have lived with his grandmother for a time before she passed away as well - then, given his complete aversion to being called a thief, I very much believe he was forced to become a street rat in order to survive (it's the only thing that makes sense to me).

But still, Locke's childhood is more harsh, because everyone on his town treats him like a thief, while Bartz is loved by everyone in his village. Well , i can't deny that Bartz is ( most of the time ) are dumb though , and Locke is more intelligent version of Bartz. I think Locke met Rachel in their childhood, approximately 2 or 3 years after that.

Defril Prihadyansyah I suspect that the bulk of Locke's childhood was at least positive enough for him to have such a sunny outlook and attitude. His father was there for the initial formative years of his life. And the formative years of one's life and the people that influence it greatly helps shape who they are as a person Everything probably went down the tubes for him after his father died. So the latter part of his childhood was definitely harsh and cold, and that continued right into his teenage years. Rachel died when Locke was 16. So Locke was likely a young teenager upon meeting Rachel at the very least. As for Rachel? Who knows. XD She could have been a little younger than him - or older, but not by much. And yeah - Locke may be described as having a backwoods, country esque accent in the Japanese script (the Japanese dialogue for him is written in the equivalent of a rural/country accent), but I firmly believe he's not a dumbass. Rash and quick to jump the gun sometimes, and he definitely has a temper if pushed too far, but he is *infinitely* more intelligent than Bartz. XD Interesting side-fact since I'm on the topic of the Japanese script - Setzer is legit written in the Japanese script as having a Yakuza dialect. |:

I used to like Locke too, because man... he's so badass. In final battle, Heartless Angel is basically Keffles' death ticket, because of that blue dagger of happiness xD I never expected that Setzer has a Yakuza dialect, though... i always depicted him to talk like a mafia, classy yet cunning. But anyway... Locke's been through a lot, doesn't he ? Harsh latter childhood, treated like a thief in his teenage years until he met Rachel, supposed to propose her, instead leads to her sacrificing herself helping Locke. And when he wokes up, she doesn't remember anything and instead to tell him to go away, and when Locke comes back to the town, he found that Rachel is killed by the Empire.
