Just came across this ! Although I dont have/use that brand of pencils, I learn far far more when I see what colors are being used. Then finding a swatch chart/comparison chart, I can follow along with no problems !! I get far more insight into blending and use of my pencils even just watching !!! That plastic tool she's using works nicely !

When you look around your house and notice objects, pay attention to how the light hits them,from which side, for instance and where that leaves a highlight...When I first started to color I looked at everything in a new way, especially flowers and leaves...when you start to do this, you’ll see highlights everywhere...

Thanks! It's a circle protractor, and I use the staedtler handheld sharpener, as well as an electric sharpener.

Anything with holes in it will do. You could even cut a hole in a bit of clear, scrap plastic - she's using a 4/8" hole (more usually known as 1/2") but you can of course choose what size or even shape holes you want. Hole punch size holes would make an interesting bubble background.
