Hopefully someone will purchase the track or a group of locals will form a co-operative and purchase the track to continue to operate it. I hate when tracks close, but operators can't run them for ever. This track looks world class. Tracks operate on money and without a healthy income, they cannot remain open. If there is not one already if a Heartlands Racing Tour could be formed and visit I-80 with several dates per year, that might look more appealing to a a new owner. I surely hope someone keeps this track alive and thank you to the current owner for many years of service to the sport.

The fans aren't coming like they used to i don't know why is it the economy are is the sport slowly dying, i grew up around racing back in the early 60's and the crowds were huge but its been in a slow decline over the years, ijust don't know!

Was at cottonbowl last night amazing racing and 80% stands on day two i wasn’t there day one but everytime I’ve went this year fans have shown. Sucks that these tracks are being literally forced into being closed and likely for sub divisions and apartments

I know someone who had asked the Kosiski's how much to take over, but the bid was higher than they would go. Who knows what will happen. Like to see it stay. Maybe get another company to manage and promote for them. We'll see. Congrats Mr Gravel.

Personally I think it’s also the Friday night schedule. Hard to get big fan attendance weekly on a Friday night after people get off work, especially if you don’t have the large car counts. If I ever win the lottery I’d give it a shot, even though I know 0% about running a track lol. Love I-80.

I live in Greenwood, NE and been going the I-80 for many many years. The word is that the owners are looking to sale to Cowart auction house next door. With the clawsse of keeping it up and running as a racetrack

Once again Brad Sweet (Great Driver) limits himself by ONLY running down low and not utilizing the middle & high side (fastest) groove of the track. Sadly, he seems to be stuck in the same rutt of ONLY driving the corners down low. ---- Sad to see this track / facility go away.
