Sadly in the 1950/60's it was used as a target for gun trials on the range and was not brought back to the museum till the 1980/90's so is sadly in very poor condition. Parked next to it at the last time I was at the museum. :((

The Churchill gun carriage was a experimental vehicle to test mounting high velocity guns on a vehicle. Only 50 were built between 1941-1942. Was never used cause the Challenger tank destroyer was sorted out and deemed a better vehicle.

I played a lot in this tank compared to others. Its in my top 5 most played tanks and I played it because EVERYONE was trashing it. And I kinda loved it, you can even sidescrap hiding your right side in city maps. But this tank is also why my favourite tank in thr game was the Hellcat. When you played like 500 games in the Churchill and then get the Hellcat you fell so free and powerful its almost outrageous.

I actually have one of my best tier 6 games in this. And I did keep it "yeah you read right". It's like the A-10. The hull was built around the gun, and the gun is all that's great about it. And in a support role that's all you need.

Reason the church hill is so famous, is because of that gun depression and armour, it's great for rocky open fields rolling gun line. It's a command tank designed to lead, throw on a good pen gun and high level radio that's all you need to grind out the exp to tier up.

done. the Churchill gun carrier was being tested from 1942-1943, 50 prototypes built but never saw action or large scale production. This eventually led to the development of the A39 Tortoise. the few surviving prototypes are either rusting or not running.

3in. Gun Carrier AKA Churchill G.C. still OP in War Thunder with the 3in gun one shots almost every vehicle and has a 37 degree traverse in neutral gear so T-50's can't circle strafe you to kill you and they can't pen with the 37mm gun.

Hey QB, if you want to know more about the Churchill Gun Carrier the real tank was called the "3 inch gun carrier Mk 1 Churchill A22D". Technically, the Churchill Gun Carrier should only have a 76mm gun known as the "QF 3 inch 20 cwt anti-aircraft gun" (Edit: I just looked in game and this gun is actually the stock gun for the Churchill Gun Carrier) but we really don't need a smaller gun on this tank now do we. In the end though the 3 inch gun carrier never saw any combat because by the time britain finished with development, they had already designed newer and better tank destroyers in the form of the Archer and the Achilles which had much greater mobility as well as being mounted with the 17-pounder.

I've always maintained that the Churchill GC is a good gun in a bad tank. In the right situations, it's deadly, as seen above. It relies on you being in the right place and the enemy being in the wrong place. It is most certainly not a flexible vehicle, like perhaps the Hellcat. The Churchill GC is kinda a one, or maybe two trick pony; sniper with good gun depression.

I was going to say that atleast the Churchill GC can't be penned from the side by a Hetzer firing 105mm HE unlike the AT 8, but after checking my facts, apparently it's terrible right side hull armor has been buffed at some point. Oh well..
