TheDoctorGnome Mostly if you're in a heavy, you'll be a gold magnet sometimes, even getting hit by those driving tanks with guns that already over-match your armor. But it only happens once in every couple games, at least for me.

Jimmy H Totally. Whenever they can't penetrate anything with their first shot and/or something with a decent bit of armour, regardless of the reason, on comes the gold! Either that or they have nothing but gold ammo. Especially from players from...certain countries in the SEA server. Side of T-29 turret? Gold! KV-5 with weakspot in your face? Gold! Caenarvon? Gold! I'm like, come on, aim a little better. But what the heck, WG loves these jokers.

My post was a bit sarcastic, but yes, the gold spam is a real problem. I can't bring myself to play some tanks because it's gotten a lot worse within the past few months for some reason. There was a time I could play high tier heavies and actually use their armor without JPE100s just rebalancing me and other such things

I like the feel of the Japanese Heavies. They come across as land-battleships, relying on brute force of the weapons and very heavy armor, rather than spaced/sloped armor. (And for those of you who play World of Warships, the tier 9 and 10 Tanks use the 140mm/50 3rd Year Type, the same gun on the Kuma). They can take a beating and keep on rolling.

The commanders hatch is not really a weakspot of the Type 4 and Type 5 Heavy. They got 200 mm (Tier9) and 210 mm (Tier10) of armour. You better shot the cheeks, whitch have the same armor as the commanders hatch, but if the Driver angles his tank correctly, the cheeks aren´t angled anymore (it´s like the cheeks on the Tiger P and the Ferdinand) and easier to penetrate. By the way, all of the sidearmor has, in front ot the tracks, spaced amor, so if you can try to shoot the upper part of the hull amor and try to stay close, they cant aim down on you. Be careful,l they have round about 10° of gundrepression all the way from Tier5 to Tier10. Beneteus & Timotres

In the O-I experimental there is a reason to fire AP. AP has double shell velocity compared to the HE, and still having the same penetration. So I would rather use HE at short distances, AP at mid ranges. ( Assuming we know we are going to penetrate ). This should actually raise the chances of hitting. Would you imagine trying to hit a target at 300-400m with HE ? Once you fire, you could go outside, grab a coffee, sit back at the computer and still see the shell flying, trying to reach the target. Thanks for the video Jingles. PS.: I also had the "extensive team damage bug" you encountered. The fix for it was stunningly simple. When you can not get rid of the teamkiller indicatior... Just start another battle and teamkill another person with one shot and some small amount of damage.(I admit, there were few battles in between as I tried to work the teamkill damage(100 in T3 battle) down for about three days of heavy gaming. Worked twice...

There WAS a turret for the Type 4-5 made WITH the 140mm L50 cannon! It ended up being used as coastal defense emplacement gun, as Japan never finished their heavies. You mention the Japanese shortage, but do not mention that The Type 4's stock cannon IS the same cannon the Shimakaze tier X IJN DD gets, and the 140mm on both the Type 4 and 5 are the EXACT same gun as the 140mm cannons of the Tenryu, Kuma, Yubari as well as MANY other IJN CCs and BBs as secondaries.

I seem to recall once hearing a story that these Japanese superheavy tanks were originally designed to patrol their shorelines and act as coastal defense. So effectively what we've got here in the higher tiers are tanks that were meant to duke it out with battleships (or at least destroyers, cruisers, and submarines), ergo the lack of mobility & the insanely huge guns.
