Wargaming could end this stat shaming in a minute. In World of Warships it is already possible to hide the account so external sites are not able to get the data via API. WG could simply use this system for WoT, but they should make it opt-in, so all accounts are hidden by default. Problem solved.

@@Hunne2303 I call BS. I haven't played WoT in for about 2 years. But I can say for sure back then XVM didn't exist as far as I can tell. Stat shaming was rare. Yet there wasn't any mass camping outside of campinovka. If we go back even older in beta testing, there wasn't much camping at all either. From videos the battles seem to be played largely the same since I last played. In other words XVM did jack shit.

I remember a match where apparently the "win chance" was 18%. A complete tool saw this and went AFK leaving some compensatory garbage in chat. Looked him up and he wasn't what could be regarded as a "good" player. Some people can't work out that it's a tool and should be treated as such. Mind you, a shovel is also a tool and somehow i bet the cretins who act like that would manage to hit themselves in the face with one.

I had a similar thing when 8 guys went one side (the one by the river) on Abbey. I (being lowtier) just held the other flank with the whiner and another TD. Turned out the train (not lemming) steamed all the way through and we won about 15 - 6

I use no XVM any more and I turn off the gunmarks. It doesn't help me in fact to win a Game! They make players jealousy. If I present my XVM I say everyone else - you are not as good as I am! Look at me! Its fine if I have 57%WR 3 gunmarks at the barrel and a purple color in XVM - but I have not the feeling that this helps anyone. Without XVM I have not a bad feeling to play with every other player - even if they are in XVM red tomatoes. I cant see it and I do not care. Thats the nature of a random game. I accept this if I start a random match.

I agree with the first part, but I've never once seen someone complain about another player with a good WN8. Usually it's something like "tomatoe" or "yellow noob" and stuff like that. Plus people don't even give you a chance to play with you as a team if you are not at least green. So I guess that "bad" players suffer most, as they are left to die and learn, that you have to be on yourself the whole game. And I don't think, that a 15vs15 teamgame is meant to be played all by yourself.

The ones who call out that the game is lost during the count down are the most frustrating for me. I somewhat operate on confidence when playing as I do not have add on mods (of any kind) to show me statistics on players and do not care for that stuff. I usually tell the team member to focus on the game at hand if they call out negative things at the start. I feel that as much as statistical "bad" players might doom a win, so does calling out negative comments, maybe even more so with the negative comments.

I always love winning the end game nail biters with "red" teammates. It's the thrill of winning ones you're "not suppose to win" ( which happens frequently enough) that keeps me playing. And happy to share that thrill with the " red " teammates who helped make it happen.

The whole XVM Thing is gamebreaking. You see a unicum player and focusing him because if he is out your chances to win are much better. Without XVM no one could focus other players because of stats which would be more fair in my opinion. Red players would not be insulted for their stats. Most players are bad or maybe average. In WOT you have to buy gold to be good otherwise its hard because your crew will always be bad or takes so long so, if you buy a new tank you have to invest another silver amount to keep them a litte good. Bad Player with Bad Crew makes super bad gameplay. Most of players are casuals, they dont know the maps or tactics they will still be bad or maybe average. So its ok to be red. Not everyone has the time to go deep in this game. Even pratice would not make you better because its the thinking what to do in what situation like QB + to knew the tanks charakteristics like speed, HP pool management, arty safe places, camouflage value. Play without sixt sense and you will see its really hard to stay in game for long.

No sir, no. With casual play and a bit of common sense you have to get yellow I think. I've played 3,7K games in 4 1/2 years. Very, very little amount. But I'm yellow and have a 53% win rate. I'm not deep into the game. I have 6th sense only on one tank crew. It's not rocket science to get an avarage WN8 of 1,000 I suppose. I also play on a potato laptop in standard graphics, not improved. Yes, XVM is game breaking. If I see a red one around the corner, I rush him. Or if I'm exposed to a red one, I'll stay cause he'll might not hit me at all. A yellow one I don't rush. A yellow one I don't also fight in the open if haven't to. Not to say anything about blue etc.

I think it can be useful. How often did I try to lead a psuh and just a few moments later my "team" watched me dying. Something that in most cases doesn't happen with green or above players. They will follow and know what to do. So the WN8 influences my playstyle.

I'm a very casual WOT player (on and off since 2016; last played about 5 months ago maybe) and this is the first WOT video I've ever watched. The video title caught my eye and I decided to watch it to see if it talks about one of my most hated issues with the game - and it DID! XVM and players who just give up because of a few reds or who call one another out on stats, like come on. I've gotta say, it was downright refreshing to see an XVM user who actually doesn't stat shame and actively sticks up for others - you have my respect for it! (And it was a great match, too; it's refreshing to see players actually do anything besides nerdgasm over a hill and fight to the death over it and die horribly like 25/30 players in 95% of my matches) You made me want to play the game again after taking a break due to XVM toxicity. Hey Quicky, just wanted to let you know that I've been paying close attention to your recent videos. My buddy and I have been playing WoT for 6-7 years now. I'm not an elite player, but I try to grasp techniques you post on here. I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate this video and the "Is WoT dying?" one. You've managed to touch a lot of the main issues and help me understand why is WoT not the WoT I used to know. (Due to work, I go on and off every once in a while). This video especially reminded me of a game I played yesterday, where I got a PM after battle where I was told I sucked in my S. Conqueror. Now it's interesting because I was facing 5 tanks at the time and got flanked on the side. I might have been too aggressive, but my team also didn't help securing my sides. Anyways, point is, this video and yesterday's game show me that so many people just don't have fun in this game. My buddy and I play a lot together and we tend to screw around most of the time. We get 2000+ WN8 games (Yes I know, I like to keep track of my stats to see if I'm improving) and most of the time, we're singing along and letting it rip. We don't care about the matchup, we see it as a challenge if it's a bad one. And at the end of the day, we got each other's back. I will definitely keep tracking what you're doing here, as I think WoT does need a fresh start, and well, I always enjoy someone who would rather discuss the problem and solutions than complain about it. Just because he fluked some damage in a top tier heavy which is pretty much OP in this MM (barely any tier 6s or 7s can pen a 112 frontally and it can two shot most tier 6s) does not make him good or at all useless, had he been where he was SUPPOSED to be, helping the team then the team would have done much better and QB wouldn't have needed to carry so hard. The player is useless, the arty player was correct about that, you don't need XVM to see that player was bad, he'll get abuse from his team mates most games I imagine without the need to see his stats because he'll be comaping base in a top tier heavy. Abuse he 100% deserves for being so awful and letting his team down. It's a team game, if you suck that badly, don't expect your team mates to be happy with you.

So, why does the T-34-2 have to face tier 10 tanks AT ALL??!!! It's in almost all aspects so much more worst than the Type 59... It's honestly a big pain to play it (and you have to grind an insane amount of xp to get to the next one - or so it feels).

Fun thing for me: the T-34-2 wasn't too bad for me, lol. It IS a bad tank, but I had my fun with it! Maybe bcause I used the underdog 122mm gun with bad accuracy bad ROF and bad everything. But it worked! The 390 alpha and the "i need to face my enemies from the side"-gun made me play it properly and actually have some fun. Also it's a good spotter, smol tenk good camo easier to hide in boosh.

It's very easy to fix XVM toxicity. Armored Warfare has options for Public, Friends only and Private stats. You can set it on private and nobody can see your stats if you don't want them aggregated by services such as XVM. Wargaming refuses to give us Private mode. They have said numerous times they won't do it. Even if it helps reduce toxicity and retain players. So dumb.

Na is +2 matchmaking battle after battle. I stopped playing vk100 caus is face 85% tier 10, 12% tier 9 and 3% tier 8 battles. And its only trick armour only works at tier 8.....tier 6 same issue. T34-85m 90% tier 8 and 7....matchmaking is killing the na server. I will try tier 7 good tip

It's actually not better then any other tier 8 medium I've got them all. Type isn't OP. T-54 Prototype will eat you alive, T-44-100 has a way better gun and is faster, hell I even do better with Fatton Korea. Saying that it can be put into good use, if you get at least an average RNG on accuracy.

6:26 That was the shell of the FV207 that you dodged. You can tell because the moment the enemy FV207 was spotted, its shell rendered in. You can't see SPG shells in flight unless someone renders/spots the vehicle that fired it. Otherwise, you wouldn't see the shell at all; you would only see the explosion and crater left by the shell. Thanks for this Quicky. I have over 38000 battles and no win rate to brag about but what I can say is that when your win rate after so many battles is low and you start improving and begin a really significant run of wins on a consistent basis it is your CURRENT rate of wins that matter. I am just pounding away raising my rate 1/100 of a percent at a time until I reach at least 48% which would make me average if you figure in draws. Being older and completely ignorant of skills needed to be good at the outset I put myself in a hole but now it is fun to have other players eat their words when I consistently win. Looking at the cumulative only it is impossible to discern any slow but effective climb in winrate. Therefore being constantly underestimated now makes for some fun. The only real statistic that really matters is how you play now. I think that if we really wanted to have a truly useful way to rate players it would be better to post only the last 1000 games with everything before that available to ONLY the player himself. Whaddaya think huh? Might cut down on the ugly, toxic berating that plagues us now. I think it might also be encouragement to players who struggle and give them reason for a better self image. Okay, your gonna laugh but....what does XVM mean and where do you find it? See...I am still working at learning the game lol. But I am anything but an electronics wizz. Love to hear from you.

When you are playing pub you really have no control over the outcome unless you carry every match. But that is not going to happen. I feel like both sides are the problem here. Poor players think they’re pretty good, and when better players try to suggest changes (and ill admit they can be a bit harsh) they take it quite frankly a little too hard and stop listening to anyone at all. Hence, the good players become frustrated and upset and class all these poor players as “tomato headed donkeys” (as I read in other comments) and refuse to help the situation. Some people are naturally assholes, yes, and some people are naturally stubborn and unwilling to listen to others. However, the majority of the game’s population are probably not a whole lot different from yourself.

The problem with XVM is that it shows overall winrate and wn8 for example, not recent. My overall is under average but my recent is way above average, and I get so annoyed with people calling me red bot, or tomato when they really have no idea (and often died before me because they play like retards ;p)

The stats XVM show are worse than useless as they don’t put anything into context and it’s really easy to farm a better score, and it’s terrible at normalising for good spam, op or up tank selection, tier played, playing in platoons, class or nation played etc. If everything was in 5% bands I’d trust it more, but as it stands it fuels salt, targeting or foolish plays.

XVM does not ruin the game, stupid and/or ignorant people ruin the game. Win rate does not show the skill of the player unless they carry the team enough to ensure the win every time. I have had countless battles where I have made 10 kills yet the game was a loss. Am I to blame cuz the other 14 people on my team could not kill 5 tanks between them? How is it my fault I didn't kill all 15 myself? I even had a loss with me making 11 kills in that battle. So looking at the win rate is very narrow minded when there are 14 other players who contribute to the win or loss of a battle. Stop being simple minded idiots and casting shame on someone for the battles win rate.

The thing is, XVM isn't everything. Even average players can have monsterous games and super unicums can have a really bad game. What I expect of a player using XVM is: Telling the newer players where to go, what to do, what to watch out for, giving them support. What actually happens is: People who use XVM and see their entire team red will just give up on that game and kemp Bush and let their team die and then complain about it. I have literally seen people stat shaming in a tier 3 battle. If you, as an experienced player using XVM are in a tier 3 match, the shame should go on you, not your team and the new players for being bad at the game. XVM is a problem. It influences people's game style and the gameplay too much for what it is. Just play the game and have fun. If fun = winning, then this is not the game for you. Average winrate percentage is 48%.

QB as an average player I use XVM to know which tanks to target when playing arty, figuring they may be the most dangerous and when in TD's and other vehicles I use it to make sure I do not get in a one on one with them preferring to have some back up to even up the odds especially when I am bottom tier which seems to be most of the time. Thanks for sticking up for the little guy. As an average player I have been called a noob more than once and just ignore the knuckleheads doing the calling. Keep up the good work sir.
