Man, not only does it tug at the nostalgic memories of all the time you’ve spent there, but it shows the trivial futility of those low-scale, endless conflicts when compared to the cosmic-level threats sitting just out of sight at any given moment. I found myself feeling sad for every last person and creature there. What a moving video! Amazing job!!
@Weaksauceization9 ай бұрын
I felt sad for the exact same reason. All those wars and fights you were a part of, either implied by lore or actually through PvP... invalidated by shitty writing where they couldn't keep it in their pants, and had to reveal the entire fucking universe and all its mysteries. Instead of just writing a good story in a medieval fantasy world... Garbage. Great video though.

I wouldn't call the Silithid "low-scale" as far as threats go. They're essentially old-god servants. Wouldn't be surprised if Sargeras aimed at Silithus intentionally to wipe them out.

@averageanikienjoyer41566 жыл бұрын
Antonio Are you talking about the cinematics like Gul'dan defeat etc? Because those are way better than this. If you're talking in-game in-game, then yeah, duh, this is better. Those cinematics aren't edited really.
@Antonio-gg4vv6 жыл бұрын
Caius Juvonen Illidan defeating Gul'dan is not as good as this. They hardly even have lighting in that one. This one has lighting, custom facial reactions, and blood. Blizzard has never had blood before, or at least from the ones I've seen. And they have cool camera angle changes like when it went from the blood elf to the night elf. Blizzard hasn't done that yet. But it is just my opinion, at the end of the day. Edit: look at the detail on the sword at 1:51. How can you say Blizz has done better than this? It looks frikin real! Blizzard's always look like the 2004 graphics.

Really? I do admit that Blizzard kind of glossed over the fact that there were indeed people living in Silithus, and we mostly got that *phew* sensation and felt lucky the sword hit such a barren and desolate place. This is a really good showing of how the sword did in fact kill a bunch of people. However, I can't say that I agree with Blizzard doing a poor job of showing the tragedy of the night elves in the burning of Teldrassil. The quest where you have to save, I think it was 100 or 1000 people (?) but it's absolutely impossible in the given time frame was, in my opinion, an amazing way of seeing and feeling the tragedy.

Between the somber music and no dialogue it really captures the despair and hopelessness of the situation that nothing in the area will survive this attack on their world. In general when everyone looks at this all I can think is if I were there, it would appear that the sun is falling and there's nothing that can be done to stop it. This is perhaps the best WoW video ever made! Ok, the music is awesome even without the image, but what I truly love about this video is that it brings WoW back to when it was really great. Back to where the players were one among many, tiny compared to the overwhelming world. Not this crap where each character is a damn CHAMPION of everything.

My favorite thing you do is capture the moments of activity going on at any given time in a zone. Making the world feel alive as all these things are happening at the same time. In your Demonhunter video when we see sweeping shots of the Tauren in the snow and the Forsaken climbing the Zeppelin tower before the invasion had my jaw dropping to the floor!

it was meant to show how irrelevant the conflict between the 2 factions really is compared to things like sargeras. it didnt matter who won the fight between the 2, it didnt matter that the blood elf lost and died, because a mere second later, everything there burned to ash.

While in game wise for the current wow timeline, it would be dozens at the outpost at most and maybe a few hundred silithid. I don't think the horde or alliance had much purpose there after the war of the shifting sands. Especially with the threat of the legion any remaining forces would be reduced to skeleton crews. I find some appeal in carrying things forward which the game doesn't do so well.
@jasonanderson71696 жыл бұрын
Impact wise it would kill other people in the surrounding zones. Blizzard probably won't play into that though.
@AutisticWayOfLife6 жыл бұрын
In lore everything is bigger than in game. The horde and alliance have no reason to be there, but the cenarion circle would for sure be trying to bring life back to the land, and the twilight's hammer is still there in large numbers. Hundreds at least.

Absolutely amazing. Seeing the sword stab from Azeroth's view is something I've wanted to see ever since the Antorus Cinematic. Makes you wonder though.... couldn't they see the red smoke covering the world like we saw in the raid? Wouldn't they hear the titan yell "Nooo" and see his face in the sky? And wouldn't that impact carry over and shake the world? Not to undermine your work, but I think Blizzard really is understating how terrifying this would be to the world, and your video certainly helps with this, but I think there's a more terrifying doom and gloom cinematic you could make. Again, terrific work, can't wait to see what else you do
@Ventorath6 жыл бұрын
TBF Sargeras the giant space god is one of the sillier things to see visually. He was always better as a big looming threat everyone knew was out there but couldn't quite reach us yet. I like that the viewpoint used here avoided him and focused on the Sword.
@goodsonanthony306 жыл бұрын
I think the maker of this video has a better grasp of the effect this would have on azeroth, then blizzard could ever have. That sword going into the planet like that would be way more of a cataclysmic event than anything a dragon could have done.
@Servellion6 жыл бұрын
Kind of arrogant to say Blizzard doesn't understand the effect it would have. Problem is creating another Cataclysm change to go with the stabbing would have been a shit ton of effort and probably wouldn't be well received. Much like a lot of the first Cataclysm's changes.
@goodsonanthony306 жыл бұрын
Then they shouldnt have done it!!! You want us to believe a dragon throwimg a tantrum across the planet is more devastating and would have longer lasting effects than a giant ass sword being plunged half way through the planet, and only one small area was effected? My point is, and arrogance has nothing to do with it, though your assumption is the only arrogance here btw, is the author of this video has shown us that this event has had a devastating effect, all blizzard gave us was a poor excuse for a quest that showed us a zone they , sorta, re worked. Id have rather them spent the time they put into this crap re work of a zone in silithus, into giving us a better expansion with bfa! And a more believable ending to antorus! I mean i get it, its a fantasy game and all, but there is still a degree of physics they have put into this game, that they themselves should abide by.
@Servellion6 жыл бұрын
You were saying the maker of the vid has a better grasp of what happens for something like this which is an arrogant assumption to make as you are assuming that noone in the cinematic or development team knows the effect of what's basically a localized deep impact. As for that dragon you keep dismissing, he was at that destruction for several weeks. It wasn't a small effort on his part. And that same dragon had Titan-gifted powers over of the earth of Azeroth. Given he had more time to use his powers as opposed to Sargeras who was starting to be contained, yeah the damage is going to be higher. As for physics, the problem with trying hold Azeroth to regular physics is in some cases physics are outright broken. Outland should be an airless bunch of rubble floating through space, but it somehow maintains not only an atmosphere but apparently multiple stable biomes. Azeroth itself has scaling problem out the ass, most of the world has utterly bullshit geography (burning desert badlands right next door to snowy biomes) and multiple elemental planes that will collapse in on the world if a very special rock isn't in place. *is the author of this video has shown us that this event has had a devastating effect, all blizzard gave us was a poor excuse for a quest that showed us a zone they , sorta, re worked. Id have rather them spent the time they put into this crap re work of a zone in silithus, into giving us a better expansion with bfa! And a more believable ending to antorus!* I'm honestly confused as to what kind of ending you wanted for Antorus. And the amount of work going into BFA likely wasn't effected too much by this...you know video game companies have multiple development teams internally. The team that wrote the story and developed the raids for isn't the same one that works on the next expac. Patches are typically done by smaller internal teams that'll use pre-prepared assets and mechanics for content patches. Also one of the reasons Argus was Broken Shore 2.0 (Oh the joys of navigating that "lovely" place) with a new and grand skybox.
