World of Warcraft in Unreal Engine 5: Westfall

Woke up one day and felt like making this, three months later this came out. Had a blast making this, let me know what you think in the comments!
My goal for this project was learning unreal engine (and some blender) and sharing my passion for warcraft with the world. I've never touched any 3d software before so I hope you like it. I wanted to show some off some of the cool modern features from unreal engine and see what it would look like combined with an older game. Enjoy!

using fov and making meshes smaller wont make up to a better game - When i played the game the first 2 years at some point i thought they shrunk the world to improve the visuals eg now the same texture are 2x better when only a shrunk has occured - but flighpath were shorter running a whole continent took less time -I would like westfall and all zones expanded to continent sizes with approx where places should be but with new content inbetween

Very well done. I miss Warcraft, not for the raiding and the stress of min-maxing, but for the simple pleasure and contentment I got from leveling and questing in areas such as Westfall. Thanks for taking me back there.

It is sad and true, that no matter what game I buy and try to play on PS5, nothing gives back the feel of good old Classic World of Warcraft. Especially these starting zones. The amount of nostalgia hit my dopamine like nothing else. I feel young again watching this. Amazing work man.

Sounds very much like The Barrens music, but a bit different. I don't know maybe it's just that I haven't played in so long. I mean sounds very similar, well it did at first. It's just missing the "Huh!" and stuff instead of the uhmm more instrumental bit there. Also reminds me of Booty Bay or something. Also for a while there it remindedme of Ashenvale or something. Am I simply crazy or is there bits that is very similar to other zone's music?

i love it! all of the UE5 innovations displayed in one video! In THE GAME we've all been wanting them in; Nanite, Nanite landscape, nanite foliage, Niagara etc, and still holds the "essence" of warcraft. This video should be pushed to the top of the watchlist and fast.

I know that many people are tired of companies recycling a game cause its lazy, fast, etc. But this is an EXCEPTION lol. I think it is time for WoW to upgrade the game or make a WoW 2, it being a fresh new story etc. That or me just to stop having hopes and move on lmao. Awesome job! This is the best UE5 reimagination I've seen so far. All of the others I've seen have tried to push the realism too far and they completely lose the character that makes WoW so special. Your blending of the potential of the Unreal Engine and the preexisting game assets really shows what is possible while still preserving what makes WoW, Wow.

If It's your first time with Unreal, It's an amazing work^^. If I had to give some advices : It feels probably too artificial, too clean. Defaults (variations of colors, little places with no road or no vegetation, roads that aren't perfectly straight...) are things that make the world feels real, and PnJ and mobs are what makes it feel alive as long as they don't act like robots too much. Roads in westfall are dirt roads, not paved roads^^. Really good work nonetheless.

I am a Westfall girl through and through., it's been my favourite place to lvl since I started playing in TBC, just the feel of the place its so bright and hazy and warm, comforting almost and ofc its got an amazing story line running through it and beautiful details that I appreciate. I lvl through there as slowly as possible to soak it all up again and I never tire of it. This video has taken my breath away, made me see it in a different even more detailed light, Moonbrook stunned me ! and the night time scenes were superb, this zone has feels like no other for me and I thank you for adding even more details for me

Well done. You did 2 of my absolutely most favourite zones. Westfall and Dun Morogh. God, the feeling you get from seeing it so much more realistic is just incredible. And the music... Love your night scenes like in 6:45 & 6:50. They actually immerse you and give such a realistic vibe. 1:25, 3:45, 4:30 and 7:13 are also such nice scenes. And a bunch of others too.

Classic WoW music is the thing that gets me every time.. When I level new character I spend xtra time in Elwynn, Westfall, Duskwood and Stranglethorn vale. Barrens and Tanaris are also so nostalgic... Great music.

Coming back to see this again and realizing how the great murlock chase scene brought back the fear of the murlocks back in the day. So cool. Also the number of people in the city made it feel much more alive, like I feel in Final Fantasy IV.

I really want to see undercity with crazy ray tracing and bloom on that green river Also… with that many murlocs on screen you got essential the backtrack to a Total War: World of Warcraft. In unreal engine 5 to boot. This is an incredible feat. Just perfection . If I knew how to do this I would make the entire game with my spare time.

Wow! I just came across this and watching this and it looks so amazing. I know that I'm a Hordie at heart (my hubby and I started playing on Horde back in BC), but I also played a bit of Alliance here and there, too. We've started playing Alliance after a 5 year hiatus. I am really glad that we started playing when we did. Although, I wish we had started playing when it first came out, though. I really would've loved to see everything before BC hit (the hubby and I started playing during Midsummer as the Burning Crusade patch was upgrading to Wrath of the Lich King). Those were the days!

still remember tarlad the human warlock, my first level 60 ever. never really did any cool stuff with him, but this evoked huge nostalgia for my first playthrough back around 2005. i picked up the game again when BC came out and ran a blood elf hunter main that had all the epics until i got sick of wow during Pandas.

Ah Westfall, even though I always played as Horde there were still some useful quests and items to get here. The pet Westfall Chicken which sold for good amount of gold to the CPT Sander’s treasure map quest for a nice bag early levels
