Fun facts: 1. Kil'Jaeden had the longest progress since Nefarian in Blackwing Descent (Cataclysm) in 2010, so it broke a 7 year record. That boss was monstrously difficult. Its completion, even outside of world-first race, required multiple faction and race-swaps from a few classes for the goblin rockets movement ability to deal with the platform explosion knockbacks. 2. Liquid and Echo took part in the closest WoW race ever (so far) on Fyrakk, the last boss of Amirdrassil (Dragonflight). Liquid wiped at 1.73% and Echo at 1.82%. Echo was behind for most of the race, and even on Fyrakk, they where behind on several % for most of the boss' progression. They turned it around on the last few days and came to a victory. Awesome video by the way

I think the term „Echo was behind“ is kind of anaccurate, since Echo had on average 80+ pulls less than liquid. In the end, they ended up 120 pulls (25%) ahead of Liquid, which is a huge skill gap actually. Blizz should Release raids worldwide at the same time, to Not give advantages to certain regions. In the end it was close and fun to Watch, bc of the time difference, which made them end up at the same results of their pulls

As hype as it has been watching the RWF lately, the sudden it highlights an issue with boss design since BfA Ever since Azshara, the kills all have every player alive, maybe 1 or 2 dead, because every single mechanic that can cause you to lose a player is just an instant wipe. Maybe it's technically harder this way, but we are missing out on experiences like Lei Shen, Blackhand and the ridiculous Garrosh kill where there is the posibility to make a miracle happen, to push your raid to it's very last hair and just barely get across the finish line. Progressing a boss feels binary, either you do it all right and you kill it or you don't and you wipe. There's no margin of error, and as such it's hard to have those moments where we shine.

I disagree. Until Fyrakk I think Sylvanas was the most insane race and world first kill ever. Echo still on the "first" reset, barely making it to 50% only to realize they have to push her 5% further. Finding that Damage under pressure, while Liquid was reclearing the raid and having that extra gear would've made the fight soo much easier. That fight was just a masterclass of min-maxing an encounter for a world first kill.

@Halikarz31 Жыл бұрын
Weird take. It's still the best players in the world by far, it's just now they can actually do it for a living which to me is a good thing. Sure there's some fondess of the idea that it used to be people with regular jobs grinding with 0 recognition, but now we have the highest level of play we have ever seen. It's also not been just some dudes for a very long time now, and not "anyone" could achieve a world first. The social and guild dynamics, scouting and stealing players, all still existed.

You need to understand that 'gamers' as a whole got 100x better as time went on (and I don't mean on just WoW) and so eventually fights like the ones on retail might take less days/weeks to kill a boss or raid compared to back then but you also need to keep in mind that these guys are doing pulls on these bosses over and over and over for 10hrs a day and wiping over 600 times while playing with some of the best players and having coaches and INSANE raid leading during these world first attempts. It is actually much harder nowadays to world first these bosses compared to back then.

Didn’t Method have World first on Lady Vashj?
@Myriadid9 ай бұрын
Technically they did but they don’t count it for some odd reason and they had another in tbc but it was also not counted then one in wrath then in cata they were the favorites since everyone have been talking about this one guild rising and taking over as #1 worldly but shockingly they didn’t get one they should’ve got at least 3 in that expansion, I was shocked tbh, then mop till bfa they dominated no one was better than them, they had a stacked roster. But yeee if you count the one they should’ve gotten in tbc plus another then the one in wrath it would be 15 world firsts technically for method in the 14-15 expansions then in shadowlands they weren’t really a good team anymore since well yea know, they should’ve terminated joshes contract maybe after the first tier in bfa like uldir since he was brought in by then, but nope he had to ruin the image of the best guild in wow history, it goes from the best vids/strats/kills etc guild to well the bottom of the barrel so method would be #1, then paragon #2, ensidia #3, blood legion #4, limit #5, exorsus #6, echo #7, then the rest would just filter in obviously covering the top hundreds or so guilds around the world competing
@Myriadid9 ай бұрын
But ya wish sco would’ve built a successful and know how to win and what it takes to win roster heading into shadowlands to revive the organization and to bring back the team in its own image, since it was tainted. Then method would be still on top, I mean they will always go down being the #1 guild in wow history since they have the most achieved world firsts and world first kills in wow history, but now echo has taken over for the past 2 xpacs which is basically method 2.0 bc you include all the echo members as apart of method since most of their time being tg has been in method now carrying that synergy and same mindset and criteria etc doesn’t really take long or surprise anyone that they got world firsts in sl and df

I don’t remember exactly but it was mostly feral druids because of a slow they could do on the adds there.
@bambae766910 ай бұрын
Two reasons: 1) Pre nerf electrocute hits so hard, that the only non tank spec that can survive it without a CD is a druid in bear form. Also barkskin is incredibly valuable in this fight. 2) With the original snapshot rules, you could snapshot the portal buff with your DoT effects. Feral was the best at abusing this. A good feral druid could do 100k + dps with good RNG, about 2-3x the dps the actual top dps classes could pull. The original pre fix/nerf version of the fight was generally considered impossible without stacking druids.

Number of attempts + days would be good when possible, to get a better idea of how hard the progress was. Also, if you're gonna credit the music and do a disclaimer, please try to do the same for the artwork you used.
